Rayne let out howl after howl, her soul pouring into each mournful call, creating a symphony of anguish. Her heart broke to think that something terrible had happened to Kiba, but she wouldn't give up hope. When all was lost, that was something both of them had learned to hold on to.
She inhaled to let out another howl until a sound cut her off causing her to release a surprised yelp. A sound she would have given her tail to hear resonated powerfully through the trees.
Kiba!
She sprinted down the mountain side, using all her senses to track his location

six weeks later Revera slid past the rocks with serpentine grace. The cool air ruffeled her whiskers but she had no tome to enjoy it. The threat of the enemy was impending and breeding from this very peak. She looked behind her to the younger wolf and flicked her tail for Alira to Jilin her.

Revera almost groaned at hearing the actual words spoken. Warnings were wasted on the young. She crawled back and flicked her tail over her daughters black lined lips. Her ears flicked forward as she searched. Nothing moved. This seemed a good time to let the pup show what she could do. Revera nodded for Alira to lead the way

Revera turned and nudged Aliras red gold flank. She had to learn to trust herself and her nose. The alpha drew her muzzle down her daughters cheek to comfort her before stepping back. The message was clear. trust yourself.

Revera nodded as she walked. The birds were singing high above and the rocks gleamed with morning dew. She decided that as long as they kept their voices low there shouldn't be a problem. use your nose my dear. What does the world want to tell you?

Revera sniffed. She was right. This rock smelled of the another wolf but wait. The alpha pulled forward cautiously. The scent wasn't thick enough to be the enemy pack. Only one female scent lingered here. Alira come smell this. What do you think?

Suddenly reveras paws went weak. She knew that scent. She could almost swear it but how could?? She shook out her ruffled fur. It couldn't be. She was mistaken. Kyra couldn't be here.

A sick feeling was roiling in the alphas stomach. No she didn't want to follow it. That would be like tracking the past. The ghost of Kyras fangs still pricked in her pelt. No one knew about this wolf and that's how it should have stayed. But ad alpha it was her duty to check it out. Yes. Keep your voice down and follow it
