(Thanks admin!)
Balor stood tall. His legs and tail too long for his body. His sky blue eye glimmered with pride as the taste of blood burned in his throat. His first catch. He was finally a warrior. Finally he could stand at his fathers side. The strong and mighty Zeus.
"Great job Balor." His slightly smaller black brother barked. "You're up next Kiba. You have to top my catch though." He barked throwing the squirrel to the air. The boys rushed beneath it to catch its flying furry tail when Zeus like a shadow of wind swooped above both of them with the squirrel planted in his jaws.
"Boys." The alpha barked dropping the the squirrel at his paws. "Catching the prey is only part of the job. Balor, did you thank the great spirits for allowing your catch?" The young wolf tipped his ears against his head. "I did not Father."
"Then a warrior you are not today." The black wolf growled. "But- But Father. You said-"
"I know what I said." The black male barked throwing his eyes over both his pups. "A warrior is not a warrior until he sees the blessings of his world. Only then will you control the demon spark withen you." Balor growled and sat, his pride and ambitions scorned once more by his father. 'All I want is to make you happy.' The young wolf thought. He could feel the blackness of his soul bleeding into the bright blue and green orbs he carried. Suddenly a cold wind blew through the trees. The scent of wolfen blood coated the air about them. "Kiba?" He barked. Where had his little brother gone? and Zeus? Thunder cracked over heard suddenly becoming the fires of an enemies snarl. The snap of teeth collided with his throat winding him. He fell to the ground at the ghostly wolf's paws. Two yellow eyes beamed from the now red black sky.
"You think you've got what it takes little warrior. Come on, fight for your Daddy." The sight of Zeus broken and bloody glowed behind the speaker in excrutiating detail. "Balor!" Balor turned at the sound of his brother only to fall to the fierce fangs of the ghost. "Kiba! Where are you?!" "Brother, Brother I'm here. I'll find you!
"Kiba!" Balor woke with a start. His heart pounding from the nightmare. He was alone, in his den made of rock. The sun was just beginning to light the bright red brick. He stood and shook but the nightmare clung like a tick in his pelt. "Kiba..." He sighed, snarling with the pain the name gave him. His brother was dead. All were dead, or turned against him. Where was Balor the Great, the alpha of Black Moon, the Keeper of the Onyx eyes? Here, alone sleeping against the rocks. As he moved her scent stirred. The gentle pup and her mother were still here, held like a fossil in the stone. He dipped his nose to the golden thread Cash had left behind. "Here Balor. This is for you. It glitters like a star and its very special. It makes dreams come true. Please keep it." The large wolf smiled at the memory and gripped it in his strong jaws with a gentleness only her trinket would deserve. With a toss of his head it landed smoothly across his shoulders, glittering like a heavenly star in his raven fur. "Another day." He barked walking out into the sunlight.

Paw steps landed across the dusky stone where Talia walked. Her pretty brown fur became a soft cream that made her invisable against the rock. In her eyes held the alpha's stare, across her back the wounds of battle traced over her shoulders and sides. Her muzzle scarred white from the fangs of which she was meant to see.
The Great Balor was below her, just slipping from his hole. Her teeth glimmered as she crouched. The glitter of his strange trinket advertised the perfect place to bite. She would have her pack back. She would not be pushed around by this black eyed demon anymore.
With only a moments hesistation she flew from her perch, aiming for his throat and hungry for his blood.

Balor slipped out of his den quietly and looked out over the morning. Not even a chirp of the hunting hawks illuminated the air. Silence could only mean one thing. The great black wolf paced, taking in the stimuli from all his senses. Nothing to hear, no strange smells. His eyes raked the canyons. The wolves that lived here were all of that dusky color. It was easy for them to hide among the red rocks.
The last place he looked was up. His gaze locked on Talia just as she leapt. With a smooth self confidence the large wolf side stepped so that her hit would land only on the ground. There she crumbled, unable to make a straight landing from the height she jumped.
"What are you doing Talia? Have you forgotten our deal?"

"Dictatorship is no deal, Balor." The brown female snapped her teeth as she tried to stand. The sheer drop of the canyons sent burning pain down her legs. Why had she tried to land that? It would have hurt less if she'd rolled.
Bravely she faced the huge male. Her muzzle came up to his shoulder, much like that large wolf in the trio that had come through all those seasons ago.
"I have come to challenge for my pack. The Nubiks demand their homeland back." She snapped.

Balor glanced at the determined little wolf. Just the fact she could stand after that fall was impressive enough but she had the gull to bare her teeth again. He stood and shook, disloging the golden thread from its perch on his shoulders. He let it set like a specator to the side.
To bad the show wouldn't be very interesting.
With that done he turned back to Talia. Her dark gold eyes burned with hatred. His whiskers twitched with amusment. "Dictator huh? From where I stand, I saved your pack. You would tear them all apart with your senseless violance." He shook out his fur and stood showing off each battle scar on his gargantuin body. "Do you not remember the last alphas that crossed me Talia? The Collossals have still not recovered from their loss." He strode forward, his green eye watching her with a preditors gleam. "And they were a pair. What hope do you haveof defeating the Onyx eyes?"

Talia met his taunts with a fierce snarl. "What you did was nothing short of what I was already planning. You don't know the histories behind this place, Demon. It is time for you to move on and let this Canyon fall back into the rightful paws."
She growled and circled him back with the sun against her eyes. If she leapt at the right time he would be blinded and she would be the victor.

Balor chuckled at her bitter bark. She's got to be joking? "Alright. Lets see what the Queen of Nubik has to show." He stood and smiled. "I'll even let you go first. Go on, try me."

Talia snarled at his condescending tone. She could feel the suns rays at her back. It was in the perfect position. He was a fool for not realizing her plan. In a flash she dropped her shoulders and let the blinding rays shoot forth straight into his demon face. Then in haste she pounced aiming to bring her teeth down on his soft neck.

Balor watched her with an almost board expression as she cut before the sun light. Clever. He thought. The wicked grin of triumph on her face was almost to funny but he wasn't watching her bright yellow eyes. Only those nimble paws. As soon as they moved he dashed in an arc about her and sat behind. For a moment she looked around.
"Sweetie Bell, I'm over here." He barked cheekily stepping forward and whispering coyly into her ear. "Do try again."

Talia instinctivly snapped at his breath in her ear. To her surprise she came down on his muzzle! She threw her head back and forth in an attempt to rip his nose off if she could. Her gutteral growls echoed off the canyon walls.

Balor winced as her sharp teeth came down on his sensitive nose. "Good shot." He huphed. "Now its my turn." The great black wolf dug his paws in the dry soil and burst forward forcing his large muzzle down the back of her tiny throat. . His huge body crashed over hers until his forepaws were at her ribs. From there, he ripped his muzzle out of her mouth and clamped it down on her weak throat.
"Sleep now love." He growled, as his teeth increased their power. Her whines fell on deff ears. "sleep."

Talia couldn't believe how swiftly the black wolf had trampled her. She'd seen it with the alphas of the Collassols but this... "Please," She whined not truly expecting mercy. "We just want our home." Black and white lights flashed in front of her eyes. She knew if he didn't let go soon... she would be dead.

Balor lowered her to the ground. The fight was sapping from her young body. Just before she lost consciensness he released her. "Your fight is brave, but foolish." He growled laying down beside her. He could sense her listening even through the rapid breaths. "An alpha needs to know what battles are worth the fight and how to proceed. I will admit I'm impressed with you little Queen. You show a promise I would hate to destroy. And so...i wont."
The great black wolf stood and howled loud enough for the neighboribg packs to hear. "Talia, queen of Nubik has defeated the Onyx eyes. I decree her the strongest of you all!"

Talia blinked up in shock as the Onyx eyes howled her name to the three packs. Instantly howls pride bloomed from all three corners of the territory. Even Luke's deep brass howl could be heard. Her heart skipped a beat, she'd always felt for the Titus alpha.
She turned to the black wolf who had handed her victory instead of the Moon Trail. "Why? Why are you giving up? You should have killed me."
