Cash glanced between both her males. They held the same pain in their hearts for the same wolf they could no longer touch. She placed a smile on her face and nuzzled the big black bear of a wolf. "It's good to see you again Balor the Great. Your blood line has made an excellent mate for me. I couldn't ask for better." She smiled shyly at Balo and turned her eyes back to Balor. "Are you ready to go home?"

Balor's breath caught as he felt Cash's gentle touch against his side. Her words were peppy and happy but he could tell she was faking. She was nervous about something. Does she know? He shook the feeling off and held back a growl as his worst thought was realized. He had lost the beauty to a male that was no more than a younger version of himself. With a half surpressed sigh he nodded. "I'm very ready to see my brother."

"And to you..Nephew." The words sounded so strange coming from Balor's mouth. He had a family again. Kiba's life had moved on while Balor had stayed locked in a perpetual prism of the mind. There hadn't been anything to this the old male for some time. Especially not Family.
"So, I assume Kiba is your alpha then or are you alpha now, Son?" He barked as they began to move off.

Kovu's head snapped around when he heard the thunder. His eyes turned to Cash with panic.
Kit! He barked, his heart pounding painfully. No. His mate. Where was she?!
He moved restlessly, he couldn't lose her. He wouldn't.
Cash. Please, let's go.... Kovu was trying his best not to snarl and his muscled frame shook with the effort.
(you know how awkward it is to type down something about yourself...? Its...awkward...)

Balo was surprised by the panic Kovu felt, but then he understood that if anything happened to Cash he would be equally panicked. Cash, why don't you and Kovu go look for Kit? I can escort Balor back and it will give him and I an opportunity to discuss things.
He turned his attention to his uncle, No I'm not the alpha's son. Kiba's mate was the head beta and he was secondary to her.

Cash nodded and licked her mates chin before she pelted toward the sound of thunder. She didn't know exactly where Kit might be but she knew where there was a storm. There was someone to save. and where there was someone to save. You would find Kit.
"Alright, lets go. Watch your paws. We are headed to the canyon.

Balor watched Cash and the other wolf... Kovu? head away. His eyes turned to the nearly identical set of his nephew. "So your mother was a beta. Why?If she was deserving of my brother she would have certainly been deserving of alpha rank. Who are you under?"

Balo kept pace with his uncle trying his best to keep his head up and his stance strong so as to impress the giant male, Father was part of this pack first and wasn't interested in being anyone's mate. He was happy to serve our current alpha but didn't want to be mated to her so he wasn't going to be alpha. Then mother came and he fell very deeply in love with her. Together they were an unstoppable force. I wish you could have seen them fight!
He cleared his throat when a bit of his puppish admiration leaked through, But mother had a deep love for Revera, our alpha, she wanted to help her, not rule her. I guess the two of them trusted Revera's leadership and wanted nothing more than to support and protect her.

Balor listened to the accounts of his brother with a slight smile. "That's wonderful. Kiba was always too serious. I bet your mother had a run for her sanity with that one." The large black wolf chuckled, a loving spark in his eye. "Revera must be one to be seen if she could rope him in line."
The thunder ahead crackled with a fire from the heavens. "Cash is up there along with that other one. Are we headed there or straight back?"

Balo smiled at the memory of his mother, The only time she was crazy with him was when he would come back injured and not accept treatment. But even then, you could tell how much they loved each other.
The smaller black wolf looked back, I was planning on taking you to the den. But we can go elsewhere if you wish.

Balor gazed out over the storm toward the Canyons. "Cash can take care of herself. That's one thing I've always valued about her." He turned to his nephew and smiled. "Lead the way ma Boy." His bark was hearty and lively. It was time to go home.
