Sigurd padded out into the darkness and down the slope, just at the treeline and waited for Revera. "First thing I want to do, is apologize for lacking as Alpha male. I know there are a lot of duties I haven't performed, and I really haven't shown any initiative. After Revera became pregnant, I became a completely different wolf. I just didn't want to be like my father.." He thought to himself as he padded along, searching for a good spot, positioning himself under a low hanging tree.

Revera headed down the slope flicking her ear as she went. The wind was picking up. She was glad they'd managed to get Vikas in before the cold picked up. She shivered and sighted her mate under the low hanging tree. On another day she would have bounced straight into that tree but things had changed. She wasn't as happy as she used to be. Not without Rayne.
She held her head high as she snuggled into his chest. The deep scent of his fur making her smile. Warm and safe as always. For a moment she nuzzled him cancelling out the wind and the hectic life she led. When she opened her eyes once more she was cold again. The Alpha stood where the mate could not and the mate withered when the Alpha stood tall.
"There's so much I have to tell you. You go first." She barked.

"First, I wanted to apologize. I know I have been more of a mate, and less of an Alpha, letting all the responsibilities fall to your shoulders. I know there are a lot of duties I should have been taking care of, but I ignored them to instead focus all of my attention on being the perfect father. I won't let it happen again. Just let me know what needs to be done, and I'll attack it head on." Sigurd looked down into Revera's eyes, his cold tone in sync with the ruthless and deadly shine glinting from his one golden orb.

Revera nodded understanding. "I know its tempting to invest all your time in them. I wish I had more time with them, but nows the time they make their connections anyway. No one wants dear old mom stepping on their tail all the time." She chuffed a little sadly.
"I forgive you, but now we have a few problems to address. There are monsters in the woods, fools in the pack and an enemy that remains silent. I'm worried." She wouldn't shake infront of her co-alpha. No matter how stressed she may have been. Weakness would not show.

"We'll address each matter individually and come up with our reactionary plans to each efficiently. We'll start with the enemy that remains silent. Do you mean the Kings?" Sigurd looked at her with concern, wondering if she felt the same unnerving feeling he did.

Revera paced on the small slope, no longer able to keep still. "Exactly. We kill their alpha, beat the war and they just fall away without a word? They are still out there and I don't know their intentions. Maybe Nuka was the only problem and they'll be like Mountain Valley, or maybe that Cashmere is a spy and she's going to destroy us from the inside." The alpha growled thinking of Nuka's daughter. "But Kit trusts her and its hard to argue with a Watcher. She's going to take Kiba to Balor and as much as I want to unite the family I hate her pedigree!"

"If she's a spy, I could take her as my apprentice. Keep my eye on her. If she tries to leave and report to her handler, I can follow her and resolve the matter entirely. Or, I could just go when a heavy snow storm hits, and obliterate them all. Your call."
"What about these fools in the pack? If you want, I can take care of them."

"Revera smiled. I wouldn't mind but she might want Kiba to take her on. You'll have to discuss that with him."She swept her tail to the side and sat. "Leave the Kings be for now. I don't want to antagonize but we need to keep an ear out."

Sigurd scratched his ear with his hind leg distractedly. "If he wants to take her on, that's no problem of mine. I have an idea for defensively dealing with the threat of the Kings. We have four wolves out at any one time, one at each border and patrol the area near there. These wolves then rotate to the left border quadrant of their starting area. When the patrols have done one full rotation, they will have done a complete circle, ending up at there original area. We have them howl if they locate anything. Also, do we have any other wolves that can climb trees, or could you possibly train some?"

Revera cocked her head. "Well our pups have a chance, but the trees are very heavy right now with all the snow and most of our pack is pretty burly. They wouldn't be able to stand the added weight. As for your scouts. Who would you have on patrol? Ky and Kovu are down. Kiba is leaving with Balo soon. Luna has to take care of her mate, same for Kit. You've got Koda whose a moron and Kross which I don't know if we can trust." She let her tail tap softly in the snow. Shadows gone, and Raynes...gone. Perhaps Misty's boys..." The alpha shrugged.

Sigurd grit his teeth at the options. "Well, in that case, we'll have to do just two and have them work in a team.. and forget about the scouts in the trees for the time being. I would be one of the scouts for sure. I can take Kross and find out more about him. From what he said, he is a scout. So the work is right up his alley. Koda is more of a pup than an adult, so we'll just have to teach him with our pups. Or, you and I can go scouting. We can discuss more of this plan later, lets move on to the next order of business. What about these fools in the pack?"

"Those fools would be Koda and Kross." She barked with a slight snarl. "I'm going to shred that pup if he headbutts me one more time and Kross needs to be out in the fields not flirting with my daughter." She couldn't hide the wicked glint of her teeth against the moonlight. "I leave him to you and puppy comes to me. I'll show him he needs step up or step out."

"Indeed. Its rather unnerving, to say the least. Wait, are you talking about Koda and Kit, or Kross and Scarlet? Because both are unnerving. Kit is spoken for, and Scarlet is a puppy, infatuated with Kross. She doesn't even have her adult teeth yet.. Its one sided, really. Kross seems more emotionless, like how I get."
Sigurd smiled at Revera's motherly reactions, "And the headbutt is his way of greeting. I don't think Koda has really had a pack experience before."

"I don't care!" The alpha snapped. "I'm an alpha and I demand respect from all my warriors. If he wants to stay then he'd better learn when to tuck his tail!" Her anger boiled beneath her scarlet pelt. Disprespect was worse than murder for a wolf who'd grown up an omega. "As for Kit, she can handle herself. I'm most certainly talking about Scarlet. I love that they can make friends but Kross encourages her so. She won't even leave him on My order." Revera rolled her eys and sat. "We have to do something about that. If she thinks she can get away with ignoring me then she's got another thing coming."

"She ignored my order as well, Revera. I don't appreciate her behavior either. I understand how you feel about Koda doing that, but meeting his actions with hostility will only cause more harm than good. We should give him a stern verbal warning first, and inform him of the proper means of greeting another wolf. He doesn't know any other way. I think with a little guidance, he could be molded into a scout. He has a knack for adventure." Sigurd said, getting off his haunches and padding over to his mate and standing beside her.
