Myria padded into the now empty herb garden, her eyes searching for the thorny bush that her pack needed.
It should be around here somewhere... the grey female glanced around, trying to find it despite the heaps of slowly melting snow.
Finally, her keen eyes spotted the low shrub, its stems a dark red against the snow.
These spines are not kind...flesh can become quite irritated when poked. As well, the thorns are thin and have a tendency to break away from the plant one inside the skin. Take extra care. she warned the two males with her.

(Godding)
Kross nodded his head and looked for the vines carefully. He didnt want to be poked by the thorns not today or anyday.

Let's try digging some of this snow out first..gripping it near the roots should make it easier. Myria instructed as she began pawing at the snow. It was slowly shoveled aside, revealing more of the nasty barberry spines.

Kross nodded digging was his specialty. The thick snow camefloughed the vines thus he could only sense snow. Estimating where the vine might be, he starts to dig.

Myria eventually cleared her side, the bottom of the shrub was just visible now. She waited for Kross to finish.
As you can see, the thorns are very long and thin, but they are spaced with some room in between. It will be beneficial for us while carrying them, but when laying them across the hole, we need to place them so that there are no spaces...only a wall of thorns. she stated while she waited. She glanced at Vikas.
We will have to ensure that the boughs are secured to the vines...I'm not entirely sure how to accomplish that, though.

As soon as he was down, he saw the vine then looked up at Myria and nodded in response.

Hmm...Vikas, you've seen the hole. How many boughs do you think we need? There's also the issue of carrying them. Kross and I can carry a small load on our backs and simply walk together, or we can carry them one by one, each supporting one end. I wouldn't advise dragging them...the thorns are likely to break off. Myria looked at the other male, wondering what his opinion was.

Vikas had been waiting, tilting his head this way and that, trying to visualize, The hole is a least a wolf high. I had to crouch a little to dip through it, but it is a formidable size. I would suggest a few boughs would do the trick. Now transporting them....
His keen eyes scanned their surroundings and rested on the bark of a tree. The idea sparked in his mind, Lets jump up and tear a section of bark from that tree. We can drag that without losing any of the thorns.
(totally stolen from me reading back before. Sorry Ky, but it was a good plan!)

(meanwhile)
Katie pressed her back against the far tree as to not make any noise. She was glad her instructors had warned her about staying down wind. Otherwise these wolves totally would have spotted her.
The intern pressed her golden hair away from her face and shifted her foot where the handheld recorder was being balanced. These wolves had already pulled down the stationary recorder which had thrown the scientists through the loop.
Katie smiled, and gently ran her pencil across the paper. She only hoped she was too far away for them to hear.
Personal expirence: Three wolves digging in the woods today. Barburry bush. None seemed interested in hunting. motivation unknown.
She peeked around again as they started to grip the roots and pull. Were they trying to pull up that plant? Why? She checked the position on the recorder and sat back to watch.

Kross looked at Vikas listening, then over to a tree and nodded sounds like a plan Vikas

(sounds good.)
Myria nodded at Vikas. Suddenly, her ears perked. The sound was very faint, and almost undetectable. The female looked around and scented the air; there was nothing. She tried to shake the feeling of being observed.
I think one of you will have a better time with the bark.

Vikas looked around, between the scent of unease from Myria and the distinct feeling in his own heart, he whispered, We're not alone....
He looked at a tree where the edge of the bark was already peeled slightly and jumped up, grabbing it with his teeth and using gravity to pull it off. Once he dropped it, he looked to the other two, Hurry this up, we have to move.

Katie gasped as the B216 jumped in the air against her tree. She clamped her eyes shut and tried to still her breathing so the wolf wouldn't hear her.
She hoped that her camera had caught his leap against the branches. She was stupid for being out here without protection. Would they be scared of cheetohs? She reached for her bag in case they found her.

Myria raised her hackles as a strange shattering sound filled her ears. Her lips curled into a snarl as she growled at the tree, watching Vikas's back warily.

When a strange shattering sound reached his ears, Vikas looked up. He could see her now, a definite monster, but smelt female. Baring his fangs, he backed up snarling.
