Nuka smelled blood. Even through the sound of his hunt at the base of the mountain and the thick blood of the rabbit in his mouth, a wolf's pain filled the male's senses. The ShadowKeeper's scent was all over the place. As the alpha made his way up the steep incline to the flat that the camp was on, he could already see the destruction caused.
Tufts of war were left on the rocks. Blood and scattered nests were everywhere. The ground was turned over from bodies being slammed into them. Pain, anger, and fear scent mingled into what would normally be a lovely cocktail - but it disturbed Nuka's stomach this time. The beast set down his hunt in the center of the camp while taking in everything. Wolves were starting to come out and look at him - some of them shamed with their failure, some of them afraid of what his reaction would be.
"Frost! Jade! All warriors: come here, now!" He snarled into the still air, breaking a pitiful silence caused by defeat. What in the world happened here? His amber eyes narrowed with the inner ferocity that was demanding for release; his fur stood on end, legs ready to take him towards the prey. "Explain yourselves! What happened while I was gone?"

Frost fought the urge to limp as her back screamed from where the Shadow beta had slammed her against a tree. She could smell Nuka's anger long before she saw him.
Flicking her eyes over the other members of their pack, Frost realized anyone else would make a further mess of this so she spoke up, We had captured the Shadow alpha's daughter and brought her here for you to question. But due to some stupidity and rashness She eyed Jade for a moment.
Some decisions were made which resulted in a surprise attack by the Shadow alpha herself and some of her warriors. We were unprepared and tried to fight them off. None of us were killed, but they did escape. That is all there is to report sir.

Jade wanted to snarl at the pretentious female for pointing her out and decided that no one was going to defend her actions but herself.
She approached slowly, tail lowered in submission, but not weakness, A Shadow warrior came looking for the whelp. I cornered her and killed her long before she reached the den. I had the Shadow alpha in my grasp and fought with her.

Frost eyed her coldly, But you lost her! You could have ended this battle before it began, but you were too weak to end her when you had the chance.

Jade snarled openly now, And what about you? You had the Shadow Walker in your grasp, their prime strategist and yet she is still standing! How dare you lecture me!

Aria winced at Nukas enraged tone. They had really done it this time. She sat just close enough to be seen as the summonce required but there was little she could say. She had let the alpha escape knowing that the fight was pointless against her but non of these wolves would understand her reasoning. It was better to obey orders and say nothing.

seems i lost the white one argus thought as he slowed to a trot. he'd been running hard to escape the wolf who had been chasing him and had taken a very difficult route to get back. but as argus came to the den he smelt blood on the wind. his eyes widened as he remembered sigurds threat Frost! SPARROW! NO! he shot forward. HOW? HOW COULD HE HAVE BEATEN ME BACK! He raced forward to see the bloody battlefield. DAMNIT! he cursed. he looked around. images of Frosts broken body and sparrow laying with his throat torn from him seemed to flash before his eyes. this can't be happening! suddenly he heard movement. FROST, SPARROW! he yelled as he sprinted around a corner. SPARROW ARE YOU AL-no sooner had he rounded it did he regret yelling. Nuka was standing there. his large frame may not have been as tall or as broad as Argus but it still struck fear in the giant heart. a sharp look from his alpha was all that was needed to silence him. wilting back he lowered his head in respect, keeping his eyes and tail low he looked around. Frost was here bickering with Jade. relief swooped through him until he realized Sparrow wasn't there. Sparrow... he whispered under his breath, where was he!? May i ask lord alpha what is it that happened here? he spoke quietly, he didn't want to ask it but after running in the way he had someone was bound to say something to him. he may as well find out first. he cursed himself. what if Shadow had died? or been hurt? Damnit! what the hell is going on?

Frost winced when she heard Argus call her name. It didn't look good for him to be more worried about her and Sparrow than the rest of the pack. She shot a deadly look in his direction and spoke carefully, Speak when you are spoken to Argus. Now, why don't you take your place in the back with Sparrow?
The silver wolf hoped he would catch the tone in her voice to know they were both all right and take on the dummy facade once more.

"Who had ordered this? Kidnapping was not in my plan, Frost."
Nuka stared daggers into Frost, glaring deep into the lesser wolf's eyes. He shot a violent glance over at the foolish Argus as the beta ordered him about. It was as if the pack was being further infected with the stupid of the Shadowkeeper's by the minute. His annoyance was growing along with it.
"Give me a damage report as soon as possible, Frost. Then send out a counterattack. I want these fools to know what happens when they strike out against me."

Frost bowed her head to her alpha, I was unaware of the abduction play, sir. But on my tail, I promise I will deal with the ones who are responsible. Her eyes flashed dangerously at the two wolves whom had become brothers to her. Thanks to them, she was getting unwanted attention.
Damage report is as follows: Jade eliminated one of their warriors. Ashe fled sometime during the battle. Argus, Sparrow, Aria, Jade and myself are not badly hurt and ready to fight again. I will deal with the trouble makers and launch an attack on your order sir.
Her blue eyes took in Nuka's gaze, their beauty shining through with determination.

Shit, how could that little rodent have already caused so much trouble? Argus fumed silently, as nuka spoke he saw frosts eyes flash to him, she's gonna kill me... he thought, practically sulking. the more he thought about it the more he felt like acting like an idiot for all these months had actually caused him to become an idiot. he had kidnapped the little red one, he had caused an attack to come when they weren't prepared, who knew it was so hard to act dumb? he thought. he did however hear a bit of good news that had come from the rash kidnapping, one of their warriors had fallen to jade, and they apparently hadn't lost anyone themselves. hopefully they at least take that into account before they pass any judgements he thought with little hope, he knew frost would be angry with him right now, his sister always seemed to be. though she had moments where she showed her true feelings for them. hopefully she'd remember that he thought he was helping, hopefully...

Nuka growled, looking fiercely over his pack one last time, before resigning himself with a sigh. His glance had passed over Aria, Jade, Argus, and rested on Frost. The eyes had suddenly become weary. Perhaps the alpha was starting to show the strain that age and constant battle put on him. Perhaps he realized anger would not settle this matter. Either way, the alpha turned and walked slowly up to his den.
"Though I am not proud of the reason for the fight, we had proved what we were capable of - kidnapping, killing, and fending off an attack from their best warriors. They shouldn't be messing with us for a while; however, Frost," Nuka turned as he spoke, giving one last authoritative glance at his beta, "my plans remain the same."

Aria dipped her head to her alpha. She felt ashamed that she had let him down. I'll make it up to you brother. I promise. She swore silently. Now that the black king had left, the others were free to wonder.
The young brown wolf trotted back to her favorite overhanging rock and nestled in its shade. She had to do someting about those Keepers. They had embarrassed Nuka. They would pay.

Frost nodded to Arugs and Sparrow that she would speak to them in a moment, but decided to follow Nuka. Once they were away from the others, her voice came out softer, more feminine,
Nuka, you're tired. I can see it in your movements. What is on your mind?

"My wounds from the battle the other day are just stiff." Nuka had answered, looking over the uninvited beta somewhat distastefully. His entire purpose of coming to his den was to be alone. Though he had given Frost permission to come in at any time, the alpha didn't like when she used it. The black wolf lumbered over to his bedding, sprawling out on his strong side.
"It seems my own wolves' have been acting strange, lately. I'm starting to think that attacks can come from anywhere. It's tiring, always looking out for signs of the enemy. We should drive out those foreigners as soon as possible to ease my mind."
