Koda caught the scent of water before he saw it. The lake looked very ugly with it being half frozen and all. He padded up to the water's edge and lapped at the clear liquid. When he had got his fill, he referred to his old adventure tac-tics to explore. He sniffed every inch of the area and familiarized himself with the recent scents as well as the old ones. A few prey scents could be detected but, for the most part, it was wolves.

Myria watched him, pleased.
It seems you have some survival smarts in you. I'm sure you recognize most of those scents, as they are pack members. Now, are you aware of how many packs are in the area?

Koda sniffed at the scents again, more carefully this time. Two definutely. He said. Possibly a third.

Myria nodded.
There are indeed three packs. The Kings...well, what is left of them, are our enemy. However, Revera and Frost, their new alpha, agreed to the Alpha's pact so we are basically leaving each other alone. We don't trust them, and I can't say for certain but they might come back one day to stir up trouble. The other pack is called Mountain Valley. They are...passive, and have never engaged in any sort of conflict so long as I've been here. We are on fairly good terms with them. Any questions?

Koda sat down in front of her. I know that the Shadow Keeper's scent is of the forest, but which of these scents belong to which pack? He asked.

The kings have a foul stench to them...almost like decaying flesh. Mountain valley smells more of grasses like those found in open fields, and water. Their territory has a river running through it.

Koda sniffed the King's scent again and scrunched his nose in dis-taste. Ugh. I should've been able to guess that. He retorted. Why are they so foul scented? Haven't they ever heard of a bath?

I don't think they bathe...but even if they did, I bet you they would still smell foul.

(Sorry, my dog needed some attention lol).
Myria smiled before thinking for a moment.
I know it's getting dark, but let's head to the Woods. You need to learn their layout.

Bryce traced the sand with his foot and looked out at the sun falling behind the lake. "Oh wow." The boy exclaimedholding his hand to block out the shimmer of orange on the water. "Dad, you were right. This is place is great!" He called as he pulled off his shoes and tip toed into the cool water. "We should tell Mom about it. It would be so cool to go camping up here wouldn't it?"
"Hush boy." Caine ordered as he circled the fallen tree. Smudges lined the sides down to the lake. One particurally muddy spot sported an almost perfect paw print that sunk into the ground. "Whew." He whistled placing his hand beside the print. It came to the first joint of his middle finger.
"Son, we've got wolves." He sneered wiping the mud on his jeans. "Wolves?" The boy chirped pulling his feet out of the water and looking around like his fathers observation would produce one of the nightmares from his old children stories. "We should tell someone to get rid of them. This place is so pretty and their just gonna fuck it up."
"Watch your mouth." The gruff man barked looking out over the tree line. "Come on, Let's get back to the Jeep. WHen we come back we'll be prepared to protect ourselves." He thought, dreaming of using that hunting gun he'd gotten for christmas. "You think Mom would like a stuffed wolf for the living room?" "I don't know." Bryce answered following behind.

(waaaay before)
Kross's eyes widen as he heard a tall monsterous like creature and slightly shorter creature growling to each other. He knew he was in plain veiw so with high assassin-like speed, he rushed to a nearby tree. Both walked on two legs, that was unheard of! He listened closely as the two growled careful not to show himself. Stuffed wolf? When they left, he knew he had to warn Rever about all of this.
