The trees were dripping with the fresh rain, the entire world washed clean from the last storm. All tracks had been removed and replaced by the damp forest floor. The perfect scene for a good hunt.
Rayne weaved through the trees with Luna at her flank. Her eyes took in her daughter, I can't believe how much you've grown.

Luna looked up at her mum, "I haven't really noticed," she joked, "I've been around Kit and Shadow,so I haven't really realised," It was then that Luna realised that her mum wasn't as large as she had once thought, and smiled. She really was growing.

Rayne chuckled as they continued on, Oh I think in time you will pass the other two up. Look at your brother's paws for goodness sakes. A bird passed over head, the sound of its cry echoing through the trees.
The mother wolf's paws felt heavenly in the cool earth. Her nose was sharp for any prey until she caught a scent she hadn't in quite sometime.
Luna, what do you know of wild pigs?

Luna cocked her head to the side, "Wild pigs? I've never heard of them." She sniffed for prey, but couldn't smell anything. Curse her nose.

Rayne nodded and moved stealthy to hide behind a larger oak. She flicked her tail for her daughter to follow, keeping her celestial eyes trained forward. Her voice came out impossibly soft as she breathed, There, in the thicket, do you hear that snuffling noise?

Luna followed her mum and peeked around the large oak. She heard a weird snuffling noise, making her ears twitch. She was guessing that was what her mum meant. She nodded, "Yeah. It sounds really weird though," she said quietly, licking her chops.

Rayne nodded, It won't be like anything you've faced before. It isn't quick like a deer, nor playful like a raccoon or as frightened as a rabbit. This animal has tusks which can easily puncture a wolf's hide and hard muscle to back its attack up. Now before we go in, tell me, what do you think is the best method for bringing this animal down?

Luna stuttered for a moment, then swallowed hard, "Well, head on is an absolute no," she mumbled quietly, unsure of herself, "Maybe if you used the element of surprise and attacked from behind? Or maybe trap it?" She looked at where she heard the weird snuffling noise, eyes narrowed.

Rayne's eyes gleamed with approval, Good thinking. Head on would only result in the pig charging and they are much quicker than I would like to take on. So how would you go about tricking it?

Luna thought, cocking her head to the side subconsciously, "If one of us attacked from behind,it would be more occupied at getting us off of it,and then one of us could maybe attack from the side?" She thought again, licking her chops in concentration, "Or we could distract it? Maybe throwing something in one direction, maybe throwing a rock or stick at a tree? Would that even distract it?" She asked herself. She shook her head, "Then we could attack from the sides maybe...or behind?" Luna looked over at her mum.

Rayne rolled her shoulders, All are very good ideas. However I think your best bet would be having a distraction in front while the other wolf slams into the side. So, I'm going to be the distraction and if you don't attack quick enough from the pig's sensitive side, this is going to get very interesting.
Her eyes gleamed wickedly as the female wolf leapt from the brush snarling at the pig.
(PIG will be italicized)
PIG There are so many mushrooms here. Yum yum yum....wait...something smells wrong. PIG turns, Wolf! Leave me alone she-wolf, I am busy.
Rayne snarls, Why don't you come and make me? Swine!
PIG dug his sharpened hooves into the ground, making ready to charge.
