(Aftrer the fight with the Kings) Revera pawed at the icy snow so odd for the season. Her legs and sides burned from the fight echoing the hollow beat of her heart. The alpha lay down with a shiver and iced her wounds. Her muzzle wrinkled with disgust for herself. She was no alpha just a coward with a high tail.. Paw steps behind her gave her made her twitch. Sigurd?

Rayne approached slowly, her black fur in strange contrast against the white snow, blue eyes even more prominent, No such luck, Revera.

Revera winced at the all to familiar voice. Hello Rayne. She didn't try to meet her betas bright blue eyes. What could she say to sooth the rage that was wafting from the black wolf.

The beta wolf sat beside her alpha, Revera....get up. Turn around and face me. Rayne watched her carefully, What happened today? That little fight was unnecessary and lasted far too long with very unpromising results. And on top of it, half way through you were no where to be found. We needed our alpha in the front line, what happened?

Revera rose at her friends request. She felt so inadequate but she was still an alpha. Bright blue eyes met her muddy yellow She breathed deep and began. I know this looks bad but this isn't what was supposed to happen. I wanted us to make our point and let him leave but he didn't take it. Nuka wouldn't stop attacking and then it finally looked like he would give in. Honestly I wanted to trap him. I was sure if he ran you three would follow so I snuck off down the path up to the Kings territory. We would have had him but I didn't account for so much back up. That was my mistake. He didn't run and my ace in the hole became a red hering The alpha sighed heavily. But I didn't run from this fight Rayne. Only from the wolves I loved. I am so proud of you for winning but I'm ashamed that I didn't lead you there. I should have known there was more. Where there's one flea there's a thousand and let my own pride get in The way of my judgement! I'm so sorry..

Rayne listened quietly to Revera's reasoning before the black female stood and closed her eyes. When the silence became thick, Rayne bolted forward slamming her larger body into Revera's so that she crashed into the snow. (have permission to do so)
The beta stood firm, Get up and fight me Revera. The red female looked at her friend in question before Rayne slammed her front paws into the ground hard with challenge, I said.....get up! An alpha doesn't apologize for her actions. When we are at war, you're not our mother, but our commander. Even if you make a mistake, don't mope about it and run off to lick your wounds. Fight.....Show me that you are strong enough to lead this pack.....Get up!

Shes crazy! Revera huphed as she rose to her paws. Her friends teeth glinted off the moon washed stone making her look even more fearsome. Quickly Revera began to circle but she did not attack. She only wanted to keep moving in case she was body slammed again. Rayne you don't want to do this. We are both exhausted from the fight and racked with emotion. You know this will only hurt the pack in the end. Sheath your fangs my friend

Rayne shook her head, a slight growl escaping her throat, I'm not fighting you because I want to, I'm fighting you because you need me to. If you are so concerned about this pack, then show me you have the strength to do so.
The black wolf sprinted to the side, zig-zagging in the snow. Show me the alpha I know you are.... Revera

so be it. Revera bared her fangs as the black wolf zig zagged her way. The alpha only had seconds to think. In a snap she dived at the black wolf's long legs her body pushed completely parellel to Rayne in order to trip her and teeth ready to bite at her back legs.

Rayne watched the smaller wolf dive underneath her, recognizing the move she herself used on Kiba and Sigurd. So, just like both gigantic males, the larger wolf allowed her legs to give out and her full weight to come down on Revera, attempting to pin her to the earth.

Revera snarled darkly as Raynes body came crashing down on her own. Just like Nuka. The breath might of been knocked from the smaller wolf but she felt stronger than she ever had. With the this new found strength she found her front paws and turned lashing fangs on her Nuka and shot out repeatedly to snap at whatever pieceof his body she could reach. He wasn't going to throw her back. Not this time.

Rayne felt Revera's fangs latch onto her right side and bit back a yelp as pain rippled through her. Good...this is what needed to happen.
The black female could see exactly what her friend was thinking. Those weren't Revera's eyes anymore, they were bloodthirsty. The black wolf snarled and snapped back, Are you going to let Nuka sending you yowling? Are you going to lose this pack?!
Rayne took her black paw and pressed it down on Revera's throat, lowering her voice to sound as much like Nuka's as her voice came out in a deathly whisper, Or maybe I'll come after that pretty daughter of yours?

Revera turned her head with a jolt forcing Nukas paw to slide from her throat and using his inertia to levy his own body toward her. The alphas teeth flashed inches from his forelegs. There was no way he could escape her bite into his leg. She pushed up with her own paws forcing her body against itself and holding her grip to grapple the larger wolf deeper into the snow. Prairie pack claws swung to meet his eyes. She wanted to hear him beg for his life and then not heed the request.

Rayne was shocked in a way by Revera's new found strength, but at the same time, she herself knew the power of maternal instinct. All she had to do was push the right buttons. But the beta wolf had seen enough.
Curling her body to match Revera's, Rayne reached her head up to whisper, There you are.
Using her powerful back legs, the black wolf pushed the smaller red female off of her before standing. Looking to her friend with pride, Rayne felt a slight smile want to pull at her lips, I thought I lost you there for a moment...
The black female bowed before Revera, My alpha.

Revera blinked in surprise as her enemy norphed into her beta before her eyes. The alpha panted feeling the rush of blood blood and strength coursing through her body. All her previous critisms melted like snow in the sun. She was the alpha. Protector of the pack. Its queen. Thank you Rayne for reminding me of who I am. She bent and licked the black wolf's muzzle. Come on. We have a pack to get home to
