Rayne nodded to Sigurd, That is good to know and he must have been a monster to give you a run for your money. If that had been the case with Alira then there would be no question as to her lack of escape. However, she has said herself that she was passed off to Sparrow. A wolf of much smaller size and from what we have seen, lacking in fighting spirit.
The female beta turned to Alira, In all this time, it appears you didn't even try to escape, fight back, call for help. I find it very hard to believe that the Kings just let you into their den without wanting something. Alira, Nightshade is dead. She died saving you, a wolf who doesn't even fight back. Are you even worth fighting for?
Rayne turned her back on Alira and fixed her eyes on her alpha, Revera, she has no place here unless she is willing to fight for it. My vote....exile.

"It was not your fault Sigurd. Thank you for filling that in. We will discuss it later. As for this. Alira I was told by the very snakes that captured you that you were trying to defend them. I want so desperately to believe they are lying but" Revera felt her wind pipe close. What she was about to say burned in her throat. The memories of finding Alira as a pup. The deep blue of her eyes as she looked up. Her sweet whine of helplessness. Now Revera was looking down at the same dear pup she loved so much. "J cant keep you. You have chosen to side with our enemies. You have ignored the sacrifices made on your behave. I cant bare what I am about to say... but your not coming home Alira. Fight or die but do not return." She trembled visably as she turned from her daughter for the last time. "Your move Rayne."She whispered to her friend as she walked past. "I cant watch."

"He didn't even fight me." Sigurd said, his anger starting to grow inside him at the disgraceful encounter.
When Rayne said exile, Sigurd looked at her with all seriousness. "Before anything is decided, I think we should let Alira explain everything without us jumping in and interrupting. Let her fully explain herself. And she may not be a fighter, or even really know how to fight. If that's the case, maybe she learned something while she was there. Lets not jump to fast conclusions." He said, trying to calm the tension.

Rayne brushed her pelt against Revera, knowing how hard this had to be for her. The black beta cleared her throat and stepped up, voice filled with authority, Alira. I have known you since you were a pup in our pack. I've watched you play, love and cuddle, but you are no longer a pup. You need to learn to grow up and be the adult you are. You've hid behind being the alpha's daughter for too long. No one is going to baby you anymore.
The black beta stood tall, blue eyes piercing, Our alpha has ordered you not to return. You will be a lone, Alira. I'm going to give you a choice. A lone can make it out there, we all have been one once, but it depends on the fight of the wolf. Now, I'm going to fight you. That won't change. However, if you fight me back, then I'll let you go free. If not, then I will be kind and end your suffering before it even starts.
Rayne kept her eyes focused on the smaller wolf, but let her voice travel to the rest of the pack, Any objections?
Rayne turned her attention to the white wolf whom spoke just as she finished, She has explained herself. And this is a problem going back long before you joined us Sigurd. There comes a time when a wolf must decide whether or not they are ready to face the world. That day is now.
Her blue glaze took in Sigurd's one eye, Alira has been coddled her entire life. It's time for her to earn her life for her own. Surely a warrior of your reputation can appreciate that.

"That I can appreciate, when I see a warrior. But when I look at Alira, I don't see a warrior. As you just said, she has been coddled. I imagine, she hasn't had to go through even a fraction of what most of us have. Without that personal experience, she hasn't had to know what its like to fight for her life day in and day out. Where all a wolf has to eat, is either grass or rotting remains of some creature. In that aspect, she is lucky. I could take her under my wing with Shadow and teach her." Sigurd said, furrowing his brow.

Myria's amber eyes closed at Revera's words. This cannot be happening... The normally quiet and introverted wolf needed to speak now.
I know my words are unlikely to change the outcome, but I must speak. I know that I have not been a pack member for very long, but in the short time that I have been here, I have come to know Alira possibly more intimately than most of the adults here. Alira is not a warrior; in fact I know that she never will be. She has no fighting spirit...there is no trace of it within her. The day we brought the stag home, I had ambushed it as it crossed my path. In my haste, I became trapped beneath it; Alira stood, helpless for quite a while as I kept myself from being crushed. Only after I gave Alira ordered instructions did she act, albeit with hesitation. The grey wolf stood, her liquid amber eyes taking in each member of the council.
If you exile Alira, you will condemn her to death. If Rayne chooses to fight Alira, there will be only one blow: a killing one. I understand that sacrifices were made, that war is imminent now more than ever, and I, too have felt the sting of betrayal at Alira's blatant disregard for this...but I also understand that a mother's love is unconditional. Myria turned to Revera.
Alira lost a mother once. Before you subject her to that same fate, you should know that when I went in to retrieve her, all she was doing was howling as loud as her body was physically capable of.
I do not think it wise to hasten the loss of another pack member without knowing the full account. The grey wolf resumed her seat, steeling herself for any potential fallout from her statements.

Kit watched everything happening with careful and observant eyes. She cocked her head slightly at Myria's speech. She glanced at the Great Beta and Alpha, both who whispered secrets to the young wolves heart. But before Kit would say this, she had a question for Alira. Sorry to interrupt but I need to ask Alira something. Kit stepped forward and sat in front of Alira, feeling the glow of support from her Great Ones. Altough it isnt bad to try and spread peace, but why didnt you atleast fight a little for the honour of your pack? I know you're not a fighter, but defending your pack and fighting for their sake would be much better than to be marked as a betraying wolf. Agree?

Rayne nodded at her pupil approvingly, A valid point Kit. And as for the rest of you. I know you see me as being heartless, when in fact I am being more kind than all of you. Even if Sigurd takes her under his wing and protects her and does everything you want to do, there is still the matter of the King's pack. You think we won't receive a counterattack for our actions? They know Alira is our weak link. There is nothing that won't stop them from coming for her again and then who knows what we will lose? Alira has shown she has no fighting spirit, so what will it do to keep her here for the King's to slaughter? At least this way she has a chance as a lone. Maybe the Mountain Valley Pack will take her?"
Rayne looked back to Alira, This is Revera's decision. She has made her choice and as alpha and her mother, none of you have the right to dispute it. I am giving Alira the option to fight me and leave with dignity. What right do the rest of you have to take that away from her? Now, let's begin.

Revera stopped at Myriad words. The broken hearted mother knew it was all true. Her claws curled into the ground until it screamed louder than her own mind. Rage like fire raced up and down her spine to seed in her gut. "A mothers loveis unconditional."She whirled teeth bared to the congragation. Does anyone doubt I love her? Does anyone think that I have not tried my absolute hardest to be a good mother? I have done so much more for my daughter than any of you will ever know! Do not stand here and condemn Rayne for my orders. I am the heartless one! I am the one who is condemning my daughter and even now I protect her. Revera turned her feverish eyes on her daughter. because the world that bred all of us is kinder than the vision of this war. Now let what I have said come to pass unless you want to take her place. I am the alpha and those are my last words. Begin Rayne. The alpha shook as she once more pulled away. Her eyes lingered on Myria. Maybe she wouldn't have made the same choice for Alira but no one could have done more. (Transition mountain peak)

Myria had kept eye contact with Revera through her outburst; she would not be cowed. She knew that her alpha was hurting, and she knew that her decision had more than likely caused a part of her to wither and die.
Myria had not doubted Revera's love for Alira, not even for a second. Memories of her past danced in her head, but the grey wolf shoved them to the darkest recess of her brain. She knew that what was being done was for the good of the pack, and ultimately, for Alira.
The best decisions are often the most difficult ones.
Perhaps I should speak to Revera...once everything calms down. The grey wolf felt her alpha's eyes on her, and she allowed her amber eyes to meet Revera's tormented gaze. Though the beta said nothing, she allowed her eyes to convey her meaning: she respected Revera, and she would follow her as long as she could. If she needed to speak, she would be there for her both as a trusted friend and a beta.

Kit shook her head and looked up at Revera. There is no need to fight Alira. Rayne would have her down within seconds. She'll be much too wounded to live as a Lone. Her leg injury is enough. Kit said, speaking the words her Great Beta whispered. Kit looked at all of them and then refocused on Revera. None of us doubt your love for Alira. But I have seen a vision before....Alira was saved. Rayne was busy fighting at that time. My vision shows me that Alira will not be a Lone for very long. She'll be joining a far away pack..... Kit shuddered hard after the vision hit her again. Her tail shifted uneasily and she looked around for the glow of her Great Alpha and Beta. They had gone. She had said what they showed her. Kit's heart burned a little at Revera's expression. Kit had lost a mother and Revera had lost a daughter. The world worked in strange ways...

"I don't condemn anyone for this deed. I know you love our daughter, Revera. Do what you will." Sigurd said, turning his blind side to the congregation and padded away from the council and out of the den.
Sigurd stopped outside the den before turning and padding towards the direction of the mountain. "I need to think." He said out loud as he walked away.

Rayne closed her eyes at Revera's outburst. This was tearing her apart and beyond the place of rank, Revera was Rayne's best friend. That's why she trusted Rayne to handle this task in the way they had determined. She would be there for her when this was over.
Rayne's crystal eyes focused on Alira, Then I will kill you. If you can not face me in this controlled environment, then you will have no hope as a lone. I will ask you one more time to stand up your guard or I will take this fight into my own paws.

Kit sat down and just watched with sad eyes. She was not the alpha so she did make the descisions. "Alira, if you want to live, you will fight Rayne and then become a Lone. If you want to see your mother suffer, then u will not fight and die instead." Kit didn't know what she would do if her.... Kit's ear pricked. "Rayne? Rayne, how about I fight her?" Kit asked, softly. She didn't want Rayne to feel the burden of killing her alpha's daughter. Besides, Kit could somehow try to get Alira to fight back. "
