Myria wandered rather aimlessly, her mind not truly paying attention to where she was going; her body simply moved where it willed. Before she realized it, the grey beta had found herself outside the council cave yet again.
Myria caught Revera's scent over the scent of death. Sighing, the beta listened, only to be greeted by Revera's soft breathing, indicating she was more asleep than awake. Knowing that her alpha would hear her either way, Myria slowly approached the council, only to pause outside. She kept her back turned to the entrance, deciding to instead stand guard and allow Revera her final moments with her daughter. The beta hung her head and allowed her liquid amber eyes to close momentarily, hoping that her alpha would come to understand Myria's actions during the trial, in time.

Reveras ears flicked noticing the sound of quiet paw steps. She lifted her head to the entrance and saw the gray wolf standing guard. Even now after snapping at her beta Myria was watching over her. "Come in sister. Misery loves company." She gave a weak smile and sat up. Her brown eyes dulled with grief.

Myria's ear rotated as Revera spoke. The beta turned and padded into the cave, taking in her alpha.
I'm sorry, Revera. It was not my place to speak against my alpha. I realize that now. The grey wolf stated as she hung her head. The beta looked upon Alira, feeling sadness embrace her once again. Being unable to find any words, the beta simply offered quiet comfort as she searched for something to say.

"What good is a beta if she doesn't speak her mind." The alpha murmurred looking down on her daughters once beautiful pelt. "I hold nothing against you." Her broken gaze turned to the gray wolf. "Have you ever had a family? A mate or pups?"

Myria allowed herself a small, sad smile.
No, I have had neither. My pack lived up north, in the boreal forests and taiga. We had an uneven number of members in my old pack, so I was the "odd one out." ...Revera, I cannot say that I understand your pain, as I was never a mother, but Alira was also like a daughter to me, as she was to every adult in this pack. She was lucky to have you, Revera. I know you tried, more than most mothers would. She appreciates it. I'm sure she is smiling down on you from her place in the heavens."
The best decisions are often times the most difficult ones. You made the right choice, Alpha. It was painful, it was heartbreaking, and it will take time to heal...but it was the correct choice. Every pack member knows this, and we will always look to you for guidance. But know this: all of your betas will be there for you, just as you are there for the pack. Always. Myria had finally been able to find the words to articulate her feelings. She allowed her molten gaze to take in her alpha, gauging her reaction. Was I too bold...yet again?

Revera laughed softly letting her tears fall down her snout. "Kind words Myria. Thank you. I just worry that the rest of the pack will understand. I feel like a monster. I condemned my own daughter." Revera found herself opening up more than she would ever normally allow. Her alpha stature made her guarded even against her own wolves but now she let it out. Her entire heart on display for the world to see. "I don't think she understood what I was trying to do. She must be cursing me from the Moon path. The rain outside are her tears of betrayel." She choked down another sob. "What am I supposed to do without her? The light is gone from my eyes. My baby is gone.."

Kit hovered for a bit, her eyes on Alira's broken figure. Her heart hurt. Alira had everything. EVERYTHING. Yet, she chose not to fight. Kit felt tears start welling up in her eyes. She wasn't surprised when Rayne finished her off, nor when Kiba howled. Kit had never known Alira well, but they were sort of friends. Kit walked backwards, seeing Revera's grief. "I'm so sorry, Alira. I could do nothing to help you..." Kit whispered. She turned and left the council. Her first thought was to run to Misty...to comfort her and tell the pup that everything was going to be okay... But Misty wasn't there anymore. Kit whimpered and then turned tail. Myria shuffled closer to Revera.
The rest of the pack does understand, and you are not a monster. Everyone sees this, even the young wolves. Alira was young, yes, but she had a wise-ness about her as well...in the way she viewed things. She is not cursing you, Revera. The rain....is her way of thanking you. It's as if I can feel it in my bones. She walks down the Moon path, safe from pain and suffering. Safe from the war. One day you will meet again, and I know she will be just as eager to see you as she always was.

Revera felt comforted by her betas words. "Thank you Myria. I hope your right but my moment of mourning must end now. The war grows ever closer and training must be done. The world must go on." Revera nuzzled her daughter one final time then turned her eyes ahead. She couldn't look back now for the packs sake. I'm the alpha. I cant fall now." She growled with determination and walked out. Myria smiled, happy that she had managed to assist her alpha. Myria left one last prayer for Alira before following after Revera.
