Revera paused at the waters edge and looked out over the choppy water. The day would be cold for a swim but it was best to train that way with the harder elements in mind.
She stood just south of where shed mourned with Rayn. The alpha wondered if her tears still marked the ground.
"Luna do you know what happened yesterday?" The alphas eyes were weak with grief. "Do you know what happened to...Her?"

Luna followed after Revera,and stopped,cocking her head to the side. She glanced out at the water and frowned slightly. Would they be swimming? She'd never swam before. In fact,she didn't really like the thought of swimming for it reminded her when her mum had been injured. She looked back at Revera. No,Revera she said quietly. Something was extremely wrong and the wolf knew it. Perhaps maybe it was something to do with Alira?

"Come I will explain it as we work." Revera padded into the chilled water with a slight shake and looked behind her. They wouldn't spend to long here. Just the basics and then a rest. It was to cold to mess around in water for long.
"Join me." She encouraged "But don't go above your hocks and keep your chest clear. Paws can adapt to cold but your lungs tell a different story."

Luna watched her alpha and nodded slowly. She edged her way into the water,and shivered. Is it always this cold? She padded further to the water,but stopped when it was just below her chest. She looked at Revera,and smelt the area. Too much water. Revera.. she mumbled quietly,watching her mentor closely. Does this have something to do with Alira? I mean,I haven't seen her,and mum had blood on her... Luna trailed off,not knowing herself where she wished to go with it.

Revera willed herself bog to sit under the weight of Lunas question. "It has to do with Loyalty." The alpha walked carefully over the slippery stones so that she drew abreast of the young black wolf. "You didn't want to follow me in here did you? Its okay you can be honest." Her voice was soft against the rush of the waves.

Luna sighed,looking down at the water she had now landed herself in. Well,Revera was her alpha,not to mention,her mentor,so who else could she be honest with other than her mum and dad? Yeah....I guess you could say that she mused,shivering again.

The alpha smiled and nudged the young wolf's shoulder. "But you did it anyway. That's Loyalty Luna. Doing something you don't want to do but trusting the one who led you there. " Revera shivered as the icy black head of a small turtle perked from the abyss. She turned pointedly away and looked into Lunas eyes. "That is exactly what happened with your mother. The blood on her is Aliras but it belongs on me. I killed my daughter with your mothers fangs."
It was impossible to hold Lunas gaze while saying that. Would she understand what her alpha meant?Her voice shook as she tried to explain. "The war drove me to seek her protection. I wanted to exhume her so she would be free from all this but I needed to know she would make it. So I ordered your mother to fight her and kill her if she wouldn't fight. "
"When I found your mother afterward she was sitting there." Revera looked to the shore as if the ghost of Raynes grief was still there. "She was singing for Alira. To welcome her to Alpha and Beta. There were tears on her eyes and I knew Rayne loved her too. I'm telling you this because I need you to understand what happened. J brought you here so you can feel what your mother felt. This lake is the impossibility of my orders. The numbness in your paws is your deed for what she had to do. The hiss of air fighting in your chest was after the fact. When all was done. Do you understand Luna?"

Luna felt her heart twist inside her chest. Alira...Alira's gone? But...no.... Luna shivered,but not just from the cold running up her spine from the water,but the fact that a wolf she had known for as long as she had lived was now gone....and was never going to come back. She stared out at nothing really,watching the water bop up and down. So mum killed Alira.... she mumbled,more to herself than her mentor. She repeated Revera's words in her head,and her eyes became icy,as realisation pooled over her. Revera....I think I understand. But,does that mean that Alira had betrayed the pack? Did she misuse her loyalty for us?

Revera couldn't help but take a step back from the seriousness in her wards tone. "No. Her death was an accident. She chose not to fight for her honor after we gave her every opertunity. That does not make her disloyal only weak of heart."
The alpha shook and nudged Luna toward the shore. This cold was biting deeper than she had predicted.
"If I gave her a direct order and she ignored it. That's disloyalty. If she had made an alliance with another pack. That is disloyalty. If she had turned her fangs against her pack. That is treason. But refusing to fight for your honnor. Its only cowardice. "
Her voice grew dull from the words she had to utter here. It felt like beesmerching the name of her daughter.
I'm alpha first. This must be done.
"Luna you wont hold this against me or your mother will you? We truly did what we thought was best for her. It would break your mothers heart if she thought she lost you."

Luna quickly got herself out of the water,and looked up at Revera. That must've been so hard to say about her own daughter.... Luna looked away for a moment. She had always loved Alira. Like an older sister. She was funny,and she helped Luna get over the things that once worried her. I understand she said quietly. She was given the chance to fight. The wolf sighed heavily. She never really was a...fighter,was she? She seemed more like a healer to me She looked up at Revera,shaking her head a bit,still cold. I won't hold it against either of you. I was always told the stories of Rayne The Shadow Walker,I knew she had to kill wolves. She cocked her head to the side,shivering. And the way you say it,mum is upset too,Revera. Myria seemed upset as well. We all are. That means mum,she-she didn't really want to actually end....her pack mate's life Luna finished,sniffling.

"That's right." Revera pricked her ears in surprise. Was someone in the ravine?
"You know what. I think we have an intruder. Get low and stay quiet. I want to check this out."
Revera slipped down the shore toward the ravine.
