The black female wove her way through the trees, a single driving force pushing her on. She crouched behind a large oak and waited, calming her heart and sniffing the air.
If she were to bring back something for not only Kiba, but the rest of the pack, it would have to be bigger than a rabbit. Rayne inhaled and caught the scent of a few fox to her left and a family of squirrels above her.
It wasn't long though before a herd of deer caught her interest though they were further out. Making her pawsteps quiet, the shadow walker lived up to her title by moving quicker and smoother than most could follow.
Following the deer's scent, the beta wolf almost didn't catch the odor of a much larger animal watching her from the bushes.

Heavy hooves clopped the ground where Moose was standing. His whiskered nose grew to take in the scent of hunting wolf. There was a desperation about her that was unmistakable. This weathered moose had smelled it many times on the wind. He had crushed the skulls of those foolishe desperate wolves who dared mess with him. Now his sharply cloven hooves itched for wolf blood once more.
It was true this was not his herd or even his species. There was a buck out there that could take care of these females but what did that matter? It was only this wolf that he cared about. Moose lowerd his massive head until the spikes of his antlers were pointed straight at her then he bellowed so that she would face him as he crushed her. He loved to watch the hunter fall.

Rayne skidded to a stop when she heard the deep bellow and turned right to take in the massive creature. Her blue eyes widened, though her voice came out firm,What business do you have with me? I'm on a mission so stay out of my way.

Moose knew not what the black wolf said but crashed forward through the brush. "You will not take me beast!" His hooves growled underneath him as she closed in on the black wolf. His massive body reared on two legs where he prepared to smash her to bits.

Rayne felt a fire of annoyance flow through her. She was in no mood to be tossed aside or attacked today. Her mate needed her....
Don't....piss...me.....off! Rayne crouched low to the ground before leaping at the charging bull and latching onto his neck, just behind his jaw bone and holding on tight.
I'm not going to give up Kiba.....I'll never give up...

The bite of the she wolf's fangs drove into Moose's throat with vengence. He tossed his head hard and aimed his kicks high in hope of throwing her off him.
"Release me demon!" He knew his next trick would get her for sure.

Rayne bit harder, the momentum from the moose's kicks making her dizzy. She clamped her eyes shut and dug her claws into the large animal's side with all of her might, feeling its warm blood dripping from her jaws.

The air was beginning to abandon the moose. His blood was dripping to line his chest fur. With a mighty bellow he began to run. The ground flew beneath his cloven hooves and he aimed for a tree. It's thick trunk beckoned him. This would end her for sure.

Rayne felt wind rushing past her and tried to move out of the way in time before being slammed against the tree. But the moose was too quick and Rayne felt the air threaten to leave her when she was smooshed between the tree and the moose.
Kiba's injured form flashed before her eyes. No....she wouldn't be stopped now....
Her blue eyes narrowed, rage filled and heated her blood and the black female slipped under the moose and sunk her teeth into the bull moose's chest, ripping and pulling flesh out with each bite, blood spurting over her face.

Even his blessed tree smash had not thrown the whelp off of him. What's worse she had hit an artery down by his chest. The blood was spilling like water now. Blind with rage and desperate to flee Moose ran on. The moutains were looming in the distance. There sharp rocks might impail her. He ran towards the only hope he had.

Rayne curled her body up, muscles clenching to keep her away from the sharpened rocks. The black female saw a particularly sharp wedge to the left, if she could herd the moose towards it, she may have a chance.
The black female placed her powerful back legs on the moose's chest and pushed him left towards the wedge of rocks.

Moose felt his body being manipulated to the side of narrow rocks. He threw his head one way but his body fell toward the other so that his shoulders smashed against the narrow wedge. He tried to take it around and press his massive head through to the other side but it proved to be a dead end.
Frustrated and bleeding Moose reared. Where were the grass gods meant to help him? Why was this happening now?

Rayne leapt off of the moose just in time to avoid being impaled. She stood there panting as she watched her opponent head towards the rocks and heard the sickly snap of bones when his leg broke out of his skin.
The black female approached his flailing form and watched him with clear eyes, I told you not to piss me off. With that, she reached down and latched onto her prior bite mark. In a quick motion, she ripped his jugular out, blooding drenching her muzzle.

Ky watched in wonder at the skill of the black female when she took down a bull moose single-pawed. He was a fairly decent hunter, but wouldn't think of doing that by himself.
His golden eyes watched her captivated as she began to tear apart the moose. Rayne hadn't really shown much hostility towards him, but he still feared to approach her.
Ky stepped closer, cursing himself when his paw cracked a twig.

Rayne's muzzle was drenched in blood, keeping her from smelling much other than the stench of moose. Her heart still thudded in her chest until she heard a twig snap behind her.
A straggler to take Kiba's kill....
Rayne positioned herself, listening for where the intruder was. It was then that she braced her body and leapt practically backwards to land full force on the unsuspecting wolf.
(permission from Ky to god this part) Her momentum knocked the surprised Ky completely on his back where her fangs threatened him, What are you doing here?
