Kovu walked on until he spotted the little cave den Revera had told him about. The scents in the area were odd but it didn't bother him. Without much ado, Kovu settled into his new temp den and went t sleep.

Kovu woke up to the bright morning sun and then stretched, shaking out his dry pelt. The earlier events flooded to his head and he cringed. He was staying? In a pack? Because of some pretty she-wolf? Kovu shook his head at his foolishness and then decided to hunt. He would not go too far from his temporary den and just hunt something small. Kovu got up and left the den, smelling the air for the scent of some rabbit. He caught one scent not too far from the den and located in rabbit in no time. It was washing its ears near a broad tree. It was standing away from the other rabbits. Kovu stalked silently behind the rabbit and pounced, his strong jaws locking around the rabbit's neck and qq=uickly breaking it. He did not care for the panic of the other rabbits, instea, taking his kill to his temp den and starting his feast.

Revera came up to the den just behind Rayne and Myria. She was happy that for once the council had not ended in blood. She hoped to keep it this way with Kovu but she couldn't be too friendly. One rescue didn't mean a golden dressed path into her den.
Assuming he even wanted to stay. Her ears flicked at the sound of his gourging. He had come to the den and eaten the prey surely that meant he was interested?
Either way she had to get this started. "Kovu, it is I Revera and two of my betas. We're ready to speak with you."

Rayne looked over the new male. He was about Ky's age and it troubled her why so many new wolves were appearing at once.
The black female took her place beside Revera, blue eyes sharp.

Myria watched Kovu, the scent of fresh rabbit still clung to the air. She took her place on Revera's other side, her amber eyes boring into the male she had only met a day prior.

Kovu had just finished his meal when he heard the she wolves arrive. He licked his chops and then turned go face them. His golden eyes took in a tall, black she wolf with celestial eyes, a grey female and the red one from yesterday. Kovu ducked his head in greeting and then waited for them to question him.

With both of her betas at her side Revera regarded the young wolf without hostility. "Kovu, I am glad to see that you took my invitation. We will now ask you a few questions so we can get a feel of you. I will start, then Myria since you've already met and then Rayne."
The alpha sat quietly among the wolves before speaking. "What pack do you hail from and why did you leave?"

Kovu nodded at the red wolf's words. I hail from the Black Mountain pack in River Mountain. My pack turned me out because they did not like the strength I possessed. They feared I would turn against them and kill the pack. My parents cared not for me, being amongst the firsts to force me out of the pack. Kovu replied. He waited for the question.

Myria asked her questions next.
You, who did not know Revera or Kit, decided to risk your own life, both in the frozen water and by running into their pack mates. Why?
She waited for his reply while she mulled over her other questions.

Kovu cocked his head slightly to the side as he regarded the grey female. Every life is important. I was close by and I was strong. Why shouldn't I help them? They are innocent, at least in my eyes. I believe that you can't let innocent lives be taken when there is something you can do about it. Kovu's thoughts drifted over to the pretty light grey female with blue eyes, Kit. His heart gave one of those strange fluttery feelings and he suddenly had an urge to see her again. And then the dull red wolf, Ky, popped into his head. Kovu felt amusement and testosterone fill him and he just wanted to make sure that there was nothing going on between Kit and Ky. Nothing major of course. He just wanted to check. That's all. As if. Kovu thought, his golden eyes glazing over slightly as he thought of the pretty Kit.

Revera smiled at the wise words of the young wolf. She was beginning to think that Alpha and Beta had blessed them twice over with two strong young and wise males. It was as if Ky and Kovu could be brothers!
Her paws itched with excitement for this new strength in her midst. It was Rayne's turn to speak now so Revera held her tongue and sat on her lightly waving tail.

Kovu cocked his head slightly at Revera's expression. She looked torn between happiness and torn between a serious expression....

Rayne listened to the male speak and could tell Revera's mind was working out the best way to fit them into their pack, but Rayne had never been one to give trust so easily.
The black beta turned her crystal gaze on the male wolf, Too strong you say? You are an adolescent male and you were stronger than your alphas so that is why they kicked you out? Seems a little presumptuous to me. Tell me, what are your great attributes or was it just that your pack was very weak?

Kovu bowed respectively at Rayne. I excelled at brute strength and speed. My pack was also weak. They fed off of rats and small creatures. They didn't hunt in packs or try to bring an elk home for others to eat. No one cared for another, except their mates. After I left the pack, I didn't care much for small meat. I fed off elks and deer, and trained myself by running long distances. I've gotten into a few fights with Lones because of my size. Otherwise, other than that, strength is one of my greatest attributes.

Revera regestered his answer with what she already knew of him Strength was not an issue, but a wolf who had never known loyalty to his pack could be trouble. Wolves without loyalty were shifty and dangerous, but he had mentioned mates and she hadn't missed his eyes on Kit yesterday. Her next question was formed.
"You say your pack believed that you would take them over but it sounds to me like you were simply blessed more than your packmates. This should have encouraged them to excell you in rank not toss you out. There must be something more to your story. Why does a dwindling pack throw out their best chance of survival?"
"And if you are so much stronger than them Why did you leave?"
