Rayne and Kiba-night of Love

Rayne walked away from the woods, Kiba at her heels. It didn't take long before she started to notice the way he watched her tail as she walked. Smiling to herself, the black female suddenly darted away from her mate, Catch me if you can!

Kiba had been keeping stride with his mate the whole ways from the woods. following very close behind her. as soon as he heard her challenge he laughed and let her get a few paces away before taking off after her. where do you think you're headed!? he laughed running after her nipping at her tail.

Rayne giggled like a pup, it had been too long since she and Kiba had any fun together. Before all this war talk, the two mates had enjoyed so many midnight runs and hunts together.

She ran in front of him noticing the sky darkening and rain drops falling to the Earth. Twisting out of his reach, the female wolf turned and stared down her mate. Her eyes fell over his powerful frame, the exquisite way his muscles moved together with a presence that unknowingly demanded respect. Suddenly she felt her heart start to pound the way it did when they first came together.

Kiba laughed along with his mate. finally she stopped though kiba didn't running over to her he knocked her off her feet and brought them both gently down. laying beside her he spoke it's great to finally have you to myself for a time. he said licking her muzzle.

Rayne closed her eyes at his words and licked his muzzle Indeed. I hope we aren't interrupted, my fierce Kiba.

The female wolf smiled as the night began for both of them.

(a few hours later)

Rayne laid amongst the reeds by the lake. She rested with her eyes closed, a familiar happiness coursing through her. Things were always better when Kiba was near her. She inhaled his musk scent, allowing it to fill her senses again.

Opening her crystal eyes, Rayne settled them on her massive mate who was sleeping soundly. She smiled, licking his scarred face gently. Once he was out, it was very difficult to wake her mate and she didn't really want to at that moment anyway. The satisfied smile on his face made her heart melt.

She laid her head on her paws watching him, remembering when they had decided to become mates.

Rayne had been accepted in the pack. Finally she had a new family, a new place to call her home. Revera had given her the blessing to join and a few months had passed since then. She stretched out and decided to take a midnight stroll through the forest. It didn't take long for her to notice she was being followed though.

Smiling, the black female called out to the darkness, "Kiba, you think I don't know you're there? Care to tell me why you are following me?" The giant male melted out of the shadows, Just wondering what an innocent pup like you is doing out in the big dark forest?"

Rayne rolled her eyes. Since their first encounter a few months earlier, Kiba had been warily watching her every movement. Though recently, the black female had noticed his eyes stayed upon her longer than usual.

Oh? You think I'm in danger? Kiba smiled and started to walk around her, looking about as if there were monsters hidden away Oh yes, I know for a fact that there are monsters out here that would love to take a bite out of you. I wouldn't wander about so unprotected.

She suppressed a giggle, "I need to be protected?" He nodded, Yes and since I am such a kind hearted wolf, I will just be forced to step up to the task.

Rayne was about to come with a clever retort about his wolfhood, but to both of their surprise, a twig snapped where a mountain lion leapt from the shadows. Both wolves bared their fangs at the large cat whom stalked them hungrily. The winter had been hard, food was scarce and that fact became so much more apparent with the lion's decision to hunt two adult wolves.

Kiba's hackles rose while he growled fiercely. Rayne circled to one side while he took the other. Together, as if they had been fighting as one for years, the two wolves attacked, Kiba taking the front claws while Rayne took out the cat's back legs. It wasn't long before the large cat realized it wasn't going to win and took off bleeding into the night.

Rayne and Kiba looked to each other, panting from the fight, her celestial eyes catching his dark gaze. He stepped closer and nuzzled her to him, Rayne appearing so much more delicate when pressed against his massive chest. She licked under his jaw as he whispered, "I want you to be my mate."

Rayne closed her eyes at the words before nuzzling closer, "I thought I already was."

The memory warmed the female wolf as she nuzzled closer to her mate, tucking her head underneath his while she whispered, "Always."

She decided to let her mate sleep for a while longer, but the sky was beginning to change. She promised to speak to Shadow and there was still the matters to discuss with Luna.

Rayne lowered her head and bumped Kiba watching him struggle to wake up, Wake up, my love. Our time is over....

She nudged him again seeing that he wasn't planning to travel with her any time soon, Do you want to stay here while I go back to the den?

Kiba could barely raise his head i'll wait here a bit love. i've been feeling really tired as of late. he gave her a blearily smiled at her. i'll be along soon love and with that he laid back down and drifted to sleep.

Rayne felt her heart melt at the sleep in his voice. How could it be that such a strong male could have that touch of vulnerability in him? They had been mated for over two years and he was still making her fall in love with him.

She smiled and licked him gently before heading out to Falls Den.
