(Yes, bile can come up if an animal suffocates. Pretty common, actually.)
Myria nodded at Miranda. She sighed before asking, Where do you think he would like to be buried?

Miranda shrugged. I don't know. I didn't know him well enough.

(Because I was too busy playing everybody else! and Sparrow was an assassin for a reason. You should have known not to trust him.)

Myria sat and thought for a moment.
He liked to run...he had very long legs. How about...there? The beta motioned towards a large tree on their territory, it had a small deer trail winding around it and going into the woods that she knew Chase would have run through if he had survived.

Miranda nodded. Okay. Um, where should I grab him?

The beta paused.
You can take the flanks...so try to grab his back near his hind legs or maybe just grab a back leg if it's easier. I've got his neck. The beta grabbed Chase by the scruff and gently lifted, waiting for Miranda.

Miranda grabbed his flank and waited for Myria to take the lead.

The grey wolf slowly moved backwards, pulling Chase as she went. Miranda was doing a good job keeping up and when the neared the tree, Myria gently placed him on the ground.
We will dig here...it should be free from roots, but close to the tree. The beta began clearing the snow. Luckily, there was no ice covering, and so the norther wolf's tough nails easily began tearing into the semi-frozen earth.

Miranda set Chase down and watched as Myria worked. She looked down at her bloodied paws and silently wished that she had saved her digging energy for this.

Myria's front legs continued to dig deeper, and once she was satisfied with the depth, the beta went about making the hole large enough for Chase to fit comfortably. Myria panted, her injured leg hurt but she had managed well.
Alright, let's...lower him down. Myria gently grabbed Chase by the scruff and waited for Miranda to take his back end once again.

Miranda felt bad that she had to dig with her injured paw and scolded herself for pitying over her own paws. She grabbed Chase's flank again and carefully helped lower him down.

The beta sighed before turning her back to Chase's body.
I'll have to use my back legs to cover him. With all this snow, we can't find any rocks to cover his grave with but the snow will protect him from any scavengers. The beta spoke as she worked. Once Chase was covered, the beta smiled.
Thank you, Miranda. You can return and care for anyone you missed after the battle. I will dispose of those two King bodies.

Miranda glanced around. Is Chase the only one of our wolves that has died? What about Rayne? Or Shadow? I haven't seen either of them in awhile.

Rayne's body disappeared into the abyss with Nuka when she sacrificed herself to save us. Shadow...I believe Revera banished her from the pack. As far as I know, she was accepted at Mountain Valley. the beta replied as she sat down to rest.

Miranda sighed. Well, I guess that I'll be seeing a lot of her then in the coming weeks. She shook her head. Poor pup. She turned to pad away but looked back over her shoulder. Rest in Peace fearless omega. Although you were unable to fulfill your purpose on Earth. Maybe you can fulfill it with Alpha and Beta. She dipped her head respectfully before she continued on her way.
