Myria padded towards Revera, her tail swishing slightly.
Too tired to fight? the beta questioned.

"Nope, I'm all fangs." Revera smiled rising from her haunches and stretching luxuriously. "I don't think I've ever fought you Myria. This should be interesting." The alpha licked her lips at the sweetness of the challenge and began to circle her opponent.

Myria allowed herself a smile, her white fangs flashing dangerously in the light.
If we were to keep count, I actually haven't sparred with anyone in this pack yet. No one even knows my fighting style... The beta felt her body thrum with excitement as she kept track of her alpha's movements with her eyes and ears, her tail flicking ever so softly.
Let her come to me. The beta kept her mind clear as she focused.

Revera continued to circle but Myria had not moved leaving her flanks open to attack.
No, it's got to be a trick. No wolf would just let you get up benind them like this. The alpha completed her circle with Myria not moving an inch. What kind of style was this? I need to do something creative to throw her off. The alpha thought.
She eyed her surroundings. They were in the middle of her fight clearing. Low hanging branches ringed the edges just for her super power but they were well out of reach now as were their smooth trunks. She was as grounded as a wolf could be... unless?
"Come on Myria I'm not medusa. Meeting my eyes hasn't turned you to stone." The alpha taunted with flashing teeth. She darted in close and snapped her jaws a hairs length from her beta's flesh. But she did not bite her. This move gave her just enough time to dart away from attack. "Up too slow." The alpha laughed with wagging tail.

Myria allowed herself a smile, she knew she had confused her alpha. I wonder if my new pack will also call me Phantom... The beta repositioned herself, though it was becoming more difficult to remain as still as she had; adrenaline course through her veins, and her body craved the thrill of the fight.
Deciding to finally move, the beta wagged her tail as she lazily sashayed back and forth towards her alpha, keeping her eyes and ears locked onto her position while her tail continued its slow switching back and forth.

She's taunting me. The alpha thought with a cock to her head. Why wasn't Myria moving. This wasn't a fight it was a staring contest. The alpha tried again dashing forward toward Myria's swinging tail.
Her jaws were open wide to catch the tail and get her beta to respond.

Myria's ears rotated, locking onto Revera's movements the moment she decided to make her move. The beta knew her alpha's pattern of running, and given that she was going towards her flanks, the beta turned her gaze towards the red wolf; the mental countdown had already begun in her mind.
The timber wolf continued moving, synchronizing her movements to her mental clock. Now! At the last instant, the beta pushed her muscles, her body easily springing backwards from beyond Revera's teeth. She slid her form past Revera's as fluid as water, yet soundlessly. The amber eyed wolf gently nipped her alpha's flank in return for her intended attack.
Well, now that you've had a taste, I suggest we begin. The beta stated as she heard Revera's jaws click together, catching nothing but empty air where Myria's tail had been. The beta switched her tail happily as she bowed.

"Hmm rather ghostly moves. I commend you." Revera barked when she regained her paws. She wondered how she was going to trip up this apparition that was her beta. The alpha bared her fangs and rushed forward. Her paws stood outstretched to grip Myria from the side while Her teeth aimed down for the back of her beta's neck.

Myria rushed forward, appearing to meet Revera head on. She let herself come into striking range before dropping to her paws, allowing her momentum to propel her forward via sliding. Revera was still moving, and Myria wondered if she would have enough time to engage Revera before she re-directed herself. I just need one opening...

Revera continued to dash as Myria crossed by her. They had moved close enough to the trees for one of her own fight moves. The quick red wolf hurtled herself to the trunk of the nearest trees and shot off with her powerful back legs on the smooth bark. The alpha hurtled like a bullet now, aimed straight for Myria.

Myria spun around to face her alpha, only to see her launch her body off of a tree like a projectile.
I don't have time to evade..she's moving too fast! But... The timber wolf quickly moved to the side, positioning her body in just the right alignment. If all went well, her shoulder would take the brunt of Revera's attack. Though Myria didn't like the idea of Revera's teeth so near vital areas, the beta was prepared as she widened her stance and resisted the urge to lock her joints.

Revera collided with her beta. The momentum of her jump sent them both tumbling across the battle field. Revera gripped her teeth and tree climbing claws into her beta's shoulder and side. Her head hit hard agains the ground but she continued to roll until she found all four paws secured to the ground. There she forced them to stop with her teeth still secured in her beta's shoulder.

Myria grunted as Revera collided with her, the claws didn't hurt but Revera's teeth stung despite Myria's thick pelt. Myria gathered her feet under her before pushing hard upwards, bringing Revera with her. Revera was on her back legs, seemingly thrown off balance. She felt teeth pinch harder, but the beta ignored the pain as she pulled herself downwards before crashing into Revera who flipped over. The beta sunk her teeth into Revera's trachea, only applying enough pressure to let her know she was pinned.

Revera felt the rocks hit her and her beta's teeth around her throat. This was the first time she'd been beat in her own arena and it stung if she was honest with herself. "Alright, Grey Ghost. You win." The alpha huphed waiting to be released.

Myria immediately released her alpha. I hope my battle skills will serve the pack well. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to prove my worth as a beta, at least in terms of combat.
