It took one short look at the old battle ground for all the nostalgia to come back flooding to Luna,as she paused momentarily, before hurriedly remembering she wasn't the only wolf carrying her Father. Aria... Jade... Nuka... Chase... Rayne... Her eyes burned horribly. With each glance more began to pelt down on her. Her eyes flickered up to the giant cliff. She was there when she attacked Aria,in an attempt to distract Nuka... Shaking the thoughts from her head, she began to sniff soundlessly at the ground, making sure they never went past the border. Looking up,she noticed the exact same area. They could bury Kiba right beside it. Not right where they stood, but it was as close as they could get. Over there, she barked quietly, motioning with her head towards the cliff. The place was dead, now. Hopeless spirits lost for their pack. Some deserved to live longer than they did, though.

Balor padded to the silent war ground with his niece at his side. Looking among the desolate land was like watching the world split open and die. The scent of the death had long passed but its aura was in each blade of grass and cobbled stone. The far away look in Luna's eyes spoke of the horrors that had happened here. He was sad he couldn't have fought beside this pack before the great tragedy. Maybe he could have changed fate....just maybe.
The black wolf nodded to his young kin and dropped his paws to dig into the crumbling dirt where she indicated. If only a soft rain had gone to break the ground and make it easier on his aging limbs. Stop moaning. He growled to himself. This is for Kiba

Luna watched for only a moment before she too, bent down and began to paw and dig at the ground which seemed as reluctant as her to do this. Her paws snarled angrily at her, sending spirals of sudden pain up her paws as she dug furiously at the hard ground. Her eyes constantly flickered towards the cliff, as if she thought that Nuka would climb back up from there, with a sinister and wicked grin placed upon his face as if he was telling her that they had failed. But we didn't. We never failed, and you have to keep on reminding yourself of that. Crystal eyes flashed to the limp body of Kiba. But had she failed him? After all of this, before all of this, could she have changed it? Was this Kiba's fate, or had the forgotten soul of her Father been swept away into an abyss where he would never wake in this world again? She hadn't of noticed, and she should've, because she should've paid more attention to her Father. She should've realised when he was losing hope. She should've realised when he started to break. And yet she didn't, and here they were now, with this burden high upon them like the moon in the sky.

Death isn't something to be explained. It is a mystery waged within the hearts of every living being. Balor dug knowing this and yet still he couldn't fathom the unknown. His little brother was dead. There laying next to the churning paws of two black wolves lay Kiba or what was left of him. This emptiness was something Balor had hoped to never feel again. When he found Myria, when this pack became home. What was next for this adventure? Was it another passing day? As fragile as each quivering breath past your whiskers?
Balor paused, the hole was deep enough. He dropped his ivory fangs into his brothers scruff and gently laid him to rest among the cool gravel and rock. "We love you Kiba." The Black Moon whispered touching his brothers nose than ear and finally pulling away. "Would you like to say something Luna?" He asked.

Luna stood stiff, moving slightly away from Balor and his deceased brother. With each passing moment,it felt like like three moons all together. With each cold breath the pair inhaled,it was a sharp intake of the life her parents no longer had. The thought pained her, especially as she thought back to her brother. Rayne had died, sacrificing her life for the victory of the Shadow Keeper's- Balo missed that. Kiba had died from- Well, from what looked like starvation and just pure depression that his body couldn't keep up with, and Balo hadn't been here for that. And now,Balo was gone, too, living a life which was more than likely a happy one with his mate.
And here she stood now. No Mum to crawl up to and curl against. No Dad to run behind to hide from the fears. And no brother to stand beside and understand this pain. What family did she have now? They were all gone. Gone to places she assumed were much more cheerful than this dead and empty world.
Realising that Balor had pulled away and was now actually talking to her,Luna slowly stepped forward. Even in this, she still managed a small smile, lifting a large paw and gently prodding it against Kiba's still shoulder, like she always did when she was younger, constantly in awe of how strong and powerful her amazing Daddy was. Have fun up there,Dad she whispered. I'll see you and Mum later. Not soon, though. Not soon at all. Leaning down so her whiskers were touching his ear,her own flattened pitifully. I'm sorry I couldn't do anything to stop this pain. I'm sorry I didn't do anything. I'm sorry I forget you like I said I never would,Black Moon she whimpered to the wolf she always played with, remembering the fact she actually thought she had a chance of defeating him.
Pulling away, she glanced at Balor for a moment, before staring down at the dead body of her Father. I've said what I needed she barked quietly.

Balor nodded to his nieces words and tossed up his head. The words spoken were the same over his father and the pack mates he lost long ago...
"A Black Moon is never forgotten. Like our mother Beta they are always there upon the horizon. Their voices can be heard when the wind is soft. Their paw steps trace the ground forever following those they have left to this world. Gentle whispers, ghostly paws meant to guide us into the future. With this death the Black Moon will reunite once more. Here we celebrate the life we've lost and the path they have paved for us.
I stand with another Black Moon that knew you well. Here we howl to the life and death of the Great Kiba. May his voice be risen when we see each other once more." The black wolf threw his head high and let out another howl to bring down the earth. It's deep verbrato sending vibrations under the living wolf's paws. On he howled into the sky, louder and louder until the very gates of the Moon trail were ripped from their posts and tossed to the sky. To Kiba's final rest.

Closing her eyes,Luna lifted her head and allowed a howl to slip from her throat and into the air, meshing as something like the background voice of Balor's howl. The Alto chimes flew up into the sky,and she could feel her heart beating hard in her chest. Balor's words still swam through her head, like a beaver or turtle swimming in a lake.
A Black Moon is never forgotten....What about a Shadow Walker,Rayne? For what seemed like an eternity, she and Balor howled. Balor howled for his lost brother,The Great Kiba, while she howled not just for her Father. She howled for the lost souls. She howled for the victories and the losses, she howled for the grief and the pain, the joy and the laughter. She howled for Chase,Rayne,Kiba,Alira,Nightshade- For the memories. For the Hope.
She wasn't sure how long she stood there howling for the ones that were still so strongly vivid in her mind. But she knew when she did stop, she was on the verge of tears as the huge realisation melted into her head. She had no parents. Her Dad was dead, and he was never coming back.
Swallowing the thick lump in her throat, she gazed back up at the cloudy sky, that seemed as if it too were about to weep. Breathing deep, she spoke, her voice soft and gentle,as if any louder and the Earth would break underneath her paws. Hurt and Pain, There's much to gain, Peace and Love, It's all the same, Confusion and Doubt, We're not without, We Weep,we Cry, We Plead,we Try, We Laugh,we Smile, Only to be hurt, By one last trial, Life is a lesson, So learn it well, Maybe, one day, You can tell its tale. she whispered, before falling silent once again.

(nice poem)
Balor listened to the murmuring of his niece as the last of their song fell to shadow. "Kiba..." The last word spoken at the burial. The black moon lifted his head and nudged his niece. The last young Black Moon, the Little Moon. With a sweep of his tail he brought the little moon closer. "We should be returning." He whispered crossing her side.

(Thank you ^-^)
One nod. A nod that hurt more than the time that lone attacked her as a pup. Gazing up at her Uncle, her eyes betrayed her, allowing the all too familiar raven pelt and multi-coloured eyes to turn into a blue, and a warm smile playing on his face as he chuckled openly, white star on his fore head.
Then it was gone. She shoved away all of her judgement to Balor for that one moment, nuzzling him,a comfort that she needed more.
(Yes,I realised that it says Kiba's star mark is on his fore head, not his chest)

The black wolf nearly jumped away in surprise. No one had sought comfort with him in such a long time, maybe ever. Stiffly he wrapped his head around his little moon's throat. Was he really the last family this little wolf had left?
We both are He sighed and let her tears fall into his thick black pelt. We have to stick together now. It's what Kiba would have wanted.

Luna shivered, yet the cold had nothing to do with it. She was so alone. Her tail brushed across Balor's pelt, and she allowed the tears she had kept in to flow. A lonely edge to her structure had returned. Something she was persistent to shove away, but as always, that lonely edge was reluctant to leave.
It was like they had been so close with each other before this. Like they had always been there for the other one. But maybe, just maybe we were. Even if we couldn't see it.She pulled away, breaking the first embrace her and Balor had had. She lifted a large paw and batted at her eyes, stubborn that she wasn't going to let herself cry. Again.
We should go, she mumbled, I need to make sure Revera's okay. I need to see the one who's lost almost as much as I have in the two. I need to see my Aunt. I just want to know they understand.

Balor nodded and spared a lick of his nieces face. "I understand." He barked nosing her to her paws. "Off we go."
With heavy paws the two black moons left their brother and father behind. The world was moving forward. Things were changing. Now it was two Black Moons against the world.

Luna managed a weak and sad smile, before trudging after him,her small frame acting like his smaller shadow. Her eyes flickered behind her for a moment, before she looked forward, pacing faster to keep up with Balor.
Never look back. I'll be waiting,Rayne,Kiba, she whispered inwardly to herself,a vow that meant so much for her and little for everyone else. With a deep shuddering breath, she carried herself on persistent legs and eyes that burnt with the blue of a crystal, with a heart prepared for healing.
