Kit followed closely on Rayne's flanks, keeping her ears and eyes sharp for any unwanted movement. She waited for Rayne to give out instructions.

Rayne stayed close to the ground, her paws shifting the earth so it didn't make noise beneath her. She looked to Kit and brought her muzzle to the smaller wolf's ear, Keep your body low, your tail down. Sift the earth beneath your paws and step when I step. We are going for stealth, not speed. In a bit we won't be able to speak.
The black wolf demonstrated how to move, relying on what a quick learner Kit. Her hardest move would be not to let her energy and her heart get the best of her, but Rayne had faith she would melt into the part.
She looked about before whispering again, Keep your eyes trained to the left while I look right. Those are our sector sweeps. We will move around the perimeter and report back to Revera our findings. That is the plan, any questions now?

Kit listened carefully to Rayne. Instantly, she crouched, her tail dropping and nearly curling between her legs. She felt the cool ground beneath her paws and dug her claws in a little. Kit nodded at Rayne. Okay. She whispered. Kit observed how Rayne moved and instantly followed suit. Kit knew she had to move slowly and not run about like a pup. I can do this... She thought, determinedly. Kit shifted her eyes to the left, scanning the surroundings. Okay! Kit agreed, softly. She watched for any signs of strange sightings or something...

Rayne nodded and pulled up the right, her body disappearing into the darkness like the shadows she so loved to walk within. One of the benefits of having an ebony coat was the ability to disappear if she wanted.
She knew Kit was following close behind and the beta wolf stiffened as she started to get hit by a barrage of scents; most unfamiliar and yet, somehow there was something she knew here.

Kit looked around, following Rayne and then froze. She cautiously brought her nose to the air and sniffed, seperating the different scents. thanks to her good nose, she caught the familiar scent...with...decay and ...blood? RAYNE! kit whispered, tugging a bit of Rayne's tail Nightshade! I smell Lykios and blood!

Rayne stiffened, she had caught the scent as well. Her fur stood on edge as she tilted her head, motioning for Kit to follow her to where Nightshade's body was.

Kit followed behind and froze in her tracks when Nightshade's body came into view. Dead. Kit wasn't that horrified by the body...more that she was horrified at the death of her pack mate. Kit stared at the dead Lykios and felt deep sadness that she had never gotten to know Lykios all that well. Kit padded cautiously forward, but even she could smell no threat. Only the decaying body of Lykios... Kit did not whimper nor cower at the sight of the dead body. Why should she? As a loner, she's seen many dead wolves...and growing up with the sight of them at almost every turn had strengthened her well. Kit wanted to howl in mourning for her fellow pack mate but decided against it. She was in the Kings territory after all...

Rayne approached, her heart aching for her fallen pack mate. Nightshade and her had saved each other lives several times and it hurt to see her killed without a pack to back her up.
She sniffed around catching the scent that made her want to snarl. That white wolf, Jade, she had done this. The spark of hatred burned within the beta as she quickly caught Kit's eyes and motioned to turn back.
They would speak to Revera about their findings.

Kit wondered what to do about the body. Instead, she gently pulled a few fallen leaves and placed it over Nightshade's glassy eyes. Then she turned and followed Revera, hoping and praying to her beloved Alpha and Beta that a terrible fate would not have to land on Alira. Nightshade had died trying to save her, Kit knew that much, Sadly, she followed Rayne to Revera's meeting place. (Transition to Mission Alira)

(transitioning from Mission Alira) Kit carefully stalked her way back to where Nightshade's body lay. She crept towards the corpse, keeping her senses out for any kings. Once she was sure no wlf was around she dropped to the ground and rolled quickly in the thick blood. Arrrgh. I am SO taking a bath after this is over. Imagine how Shadow would feel, knowing I rolled in her mom's blood... Kit winced at that thought as she got up. She was now fully covered in Nightshade's blood. To make the blood scent seem stronger, Kit rubbed some of the blood on the few trees behind her and then all around the territory, making sure not to stray too far from Nightshade's body. She quickly rolled herself in the thick blood for good measure and then ran off north, Nightshade's blood strong in the air.

Rayne pulled up the side with Myra on her tail. The scent of blood was strong in the air and the beta hopped Kit wouldn't overdo it...
She waited in the brush, tail flicking softly, heart pounding with suppressed excitement. It had been a while since she was in battle without Kiba by her side. Rayne's blue eyes flipped over to Myra, She will just have to do.
Both she-wolves waited for the signal, Rayne praying everything would turn out as she planned.

Revera flanked her betas from the trees. Her body twisted and flowed with the wind in the branches. A bird landing would make more noise than the red alpha. She could see sharp rocks once more and the scent of blood was leaking from the forest floor. Nightshades loss twisted in her gut. She hoped the warrior was watching them. "Bless this mission Alpha and Beta. Help me bring my daughter home." Now the trees were thinning and the alpha was forced to stop. She would run in a few seconds after Rayne and Myria attacked." The alpha licked her lips in antisipation.

Kit ran fast, the thick scent of Kings was almost overwhelming. She looked left and right as she dug her claws into the ground to propel her forwards. She wondered briefly if she should howl....

Rayne crouched, her muscles begging to release the spring like tension they felt. When she heard the sound of paws leaving the den and smelt the scent of a female approaching, she turned her muzzle up and howled, Now!
