Rayne smiled at her son, You're best....that's all I've ever wanted. Go patrol, listen to Myria and report your findings. I believe in you, my son.

Balo's chest swelled with pride as he nodded to his alpha and received a quick lick from his mother. He would do his best, he would make his parents proud. Maybe he would see his dad along the way and show that he was old enough to be on patrol?
Balo waited by the den's entrance for Myria to come and show him where to go. He wouldn't ruin this chance....not for anything....

Kit shivered and straightened up, her eyes thick with sleep. She was tired but she couldn't sleep! What...? She got up on unsteady legs and attempted to walk...where, she didn't know. She shook out her wet pelt and shivered violently. She blinked her dazed blue eyes a few times and saw Rayne, Revera and Balo. What were they doing at this time? Kit blinked more rapidly but she couldn't chase the sleep away from her. She trotted towards the adults and sat near to Rayne, not wanting to be bothersome. She curled up by Rayne's paws, her face pointed in Revera's direction. She closed her eyes and waited for sleep to take her.

Myria was halfway down the incline before she heard her alpha's orders. The grey wolf nodded to Rayne and Revera before turning to Balo. We will begin our sweep in the open wooded area..The bears are likely to be foraging.

Rayne watched Balo leave will Myria and she let out the breath she was holding. It was hard letting them go as a feeling was pulling at her, but she decided to brush it off. Too much stress must have been playing with her instincts.
The black wolf felt a body fall at her paws and she looked down to see Kit collapse. Poor thing must have been exhausted.
Rayne positioned herself so that she was curled around the smaller wolf, letting her own body heat flow into Kit. Once she had done so, she rested her head on top of her pupil and whispered, Rest easy, your pack is with you and all is well.
When she felt the smaller wolf relax, Rayne herself gave into the sleep she had pushed away for so long.

Sigurd watched and listened to the conversation, nodding in agreement to the means of security. "Another thought I had was post scouts to monitor the key locations of our territory that directly share a border with King's. These scouts will have to be fast and know our territory in and out; every last shortcut and path to lose followers on. The more hazardous, the better. That way, if they discover the scout and start chasing him/her, they can escape and possibly cause damage back to any wolf chasing them."
"This may go against our pack's beliefs, but from now on, I suggest we cut howling back unless its absolutely necessary. Howling gives away our positions. Sending single messengers would just tire out our combatants. So perhaps we should come up with some means of a relay system, or other means." Sigurd looked at the members of the pack around him, concern on his face.
"Our opponents have already shown just how desperate they are to strike the killing blow. In their dishonorable actions, we've lost two wolves, one directly by their fangs. I really hate bringing the current events up like this, but my point is, if they are willing to stoop to kidnapping, they might go even further. I have a proposition: To ensure that we don't have any more events like this, I could go to the border between our territories and howl to the King's until they respond, demanding a meeting between Nuka and myself and work out a more honorable means to this war. If we fight, we fight during the day and don't attack at night. We allow each side to honor our dead at dusk, take them back so we can give them proper burials. And we do not, by any means, attack the other pack's pups too young to fight. If they won't agree to meet, then I can at least drive them crazy with my horrible singing voice." Sigurd said, cracking a goofy smile to try and lighten the mood.
