Balor caught the movement by the tree. He smiled wide and used his walk of silence to take up a positon directly opposite. It was thick enough to hide both of their scents and he loved that aspect.

Myria's ears rotated, but she caught nothing. For a bear, he sure is stealthy. He probably matches me, if not exceeding my ability. Tricky male.
Cursing, Myria slowly poked her head around the other end, but the clearing was empty.
Where is he? she questioned under her breath. Sniffing, she caught his scent, but it was on the opposite side. Frowing, Myria disappeared into the brush and circled back around slowly, pausing every now and again.

Balor stayed one step ahead of her and watched her fluffy tail as it moved through the brush. He chuckled under his breath before he began to stalk close behind her and finally pounced aiming for her back with a playful nip.

Myria heard a soft whoosh just before she was tackled by Balor.
It seems you win this round. I was not expecting you to have such stealth, or strategic smarts about you. she twitched her whiskers at him.

The bear of a wolf chuckled and fell to his side to paw at her forelegs. "You should always expect the unexpected Miss Myria." He barked with a wag of his tail. For a moment he wondered when the last time he'd felt so free and happy was. Then he remembered telling his old stories to Cash. That sweet look on her face as he spoke of the fights and the wars he and the Great Kiba had been in. A secret smile twitched his whiskers but lined it with sadness. Cash wasn't his. Was there a point to thinking on Love anymore. Even this beauty before him wouldn't see past the scars and arrogance to the wolf he kept under wraps.
He shook himself and rolled fully onto his back enjoying the tickle of the wind on his belly. "This is nice." He barked wagging his tail.

It is. It's been a while since I just...played. Betas don't get much free time. she smiled as he rolled over.
You're...dirty again. Did you trip and fall while running or something? she questioned as she glanced at her back to make sure her fur was still clean.

"You don't expect a coat this thick to dry out naturally do you? Mud does wonders for keeping your body heat." he barked pawing the air as the tiny lights played in his eyes. He licked his nose and rolled over. That smell again. Not so surprising in a herb garden but each other time he'd smelled this it came from no where. "The lilacs." He murmurred.

Lilacs? But there are no flowers growing yet. And...are you sure you aren't part wild boar? They like to wallow in the mud too.

"Maybe on my mother's side." He barked with a wink before pulling to his paws. "You don't smell it? Ever since I left the canyons. It's like its following me..." He shrugged and grinned a little. "I sound like a nut don't I? I know, I can't help it."

Myria inhaled. No...I don't smell anything. She sniffed at her foreleg, but there was nothing but the smell of fur and forest.
We do have a meadow, but that is far away and nothing would be blooming yet. She shrugged.
Getting senile in your old age? she swatted at him with her tail just as a white hare bounded into the clearing.

Balor was about to swipe her back when a nice little snack bounded into the clearing. "You or me?" He whispered feeling his muscles tense.

Balor nodded and stood up silently. His mulitcolor eyes narrowed in concentration as he took one step and then another. Slowly he closed in on the hare and drew forward. It's little heartbeat burned through the black wolf's paws to his chest. The connection. The burn of the hunt. Deep, carnal, he leaped.
The rabbit ran for half a second before his jaws closed against the thin back. One shake, one snap. It was done. He held a paw over the body and dipped his head to give thanks to Alpha and Beta before grabbing it in his jaws and trotting it over to Myria. "Ladies first." He barked dropping it at her paws.

How kind. I was actually expecting you to not share. She smiled before dipping her head and tearing off a chunk of flesh. She chewed once, twice, and the sweetly-tinged meat was gone.
I think you need it more than I do. We should probably head back soon. The rest of the territory is fairly simple, just our old den, the meadow behind it, and the battle ground. Fairly uninteresting and...not fun. Unless you're interested in knowing the whole territory?

Balor dropped to his side to crunch the bones at his leasure and gazed up at the beta. His blue and green eyes wide and puppish. "Tell me about the battle?" He barked like a pup asking for a story.
