Myria blinked and averted her gaze.
How was I supposed to know...for all I know, I could have cracked your ribcage or ruptured some other internal organ. she defended. She glanced back at him.
Are you certain I didn't injure you? Then again...Balor the Great dying from a smaller female falling on him...wouldn't that be the way to go? she barked.

That would be an awesome way to go! He thought with a grin and bopped her muzzle again more playfully. "I'm fine Rose." He chuckled shaking out his fur. He turned his face away and winced before looking back at the sweet female. "Shall we continue or rest?"

Amber eyes rolled at Balor's actions though her small smile betrayed her.
If you're up to continuing, we can press forward. she rolled her shoulders in a shrug.

The black wolf smirked and brushed her side with his muzzle. Not feeling any unexpected bumps or gaps in her bone structure he turned his eyes farther down the cliffs. A rather clean walkway of collapsing rocks lead down and around toward what appeared to be an old animal dug out. "Let's go this way." He barked swinging his tail for her to follow.

Myria felt herself stiffen as Balor's muzzle brushed along her side. Soon enough, his muzzle retreated and he motioned for her to follow once again. The beta spared a glance upwards before padding after the large male.

Carefully Balor descended the steps of the rocks. His flanks burning from the pain of the collision. He growled under his breath at his own weakness and hurried down toward the dug out. A soft scent of dead animal and danger sifted from the hold. The black wolf rolled his eyes and glanced back painfully. "Do you know this scent?" He barked cocking his head and shifting over toward the outside of the path so Myria could go through.

Myria had been watching Balor as he moved before her, and her keen eyes immediately noted that his gait was ever so slightly off. He's pretty good at hiding his pain...if I wasn't so observant, I would have missed it completely. Right now isn't the time to call him out on it...perhaps later, on the way back up.
Sniffing, Myria detected a rodent-like scent. She snuffled for a bit, her mind weeding out the possibilities.
Pica....a rodent like animal. They use dugouts like this to hide stores of grass for the winter. Not much of a meal.

"Really?" The black wolf barked impressed. He hadn't the faintest clue what that wierd smell had been. "Guess it helps to know the territory." He chuckled feeling his pelt prickle nervously at her close proximity to him. "I'm guessing they aren't a threat then either?" He barked imagining a little rat like creature scuttling under his or Myria's paws and throwing them off.

The beta smirked at Balor.
No, not usually. They are more of the "flight" prey and dive under rocks and such. Though, they can be annoying in the summer months...with all that barking they do. she wanted to bump his shoulder but resisted the urge, not wanting to irritate whatever injury he had incurred as a result of her awful landing.

"Barking?" Balor cocked his head and fixed her a quizzical look. "We arent' related are we?"

Myria chuckled.
No, not at all. While normal rodents tend to squeak, the Pica here tend to have very short, fairly loud squeaks. They sound more like a wolf's bark than a rodent's squeak. You'll hear them...eventually. It's usually more prominent around their mating season.

"Oh that sounds nice." He barked wrinkling his nose. "A bunch of yipping horny puppies." He chuckled shaking his head and pawing the ground before heading on. "Come on Prim Rose, lets keep going. I think I hear the water."

Myria's ears perked at Balor's new nickname.
Prim Rose....what happened to Mimi? she questioned, her eyes curious.

Balor froze midstep and looked behind him. His mulitcolor eyes glowing softly in the dim light. "Prim Rose fits you better." He barked finally twisting to face her with a little trouble from his left hip. "It's softer and sweeter than any Mimi could be." He chuckled.

The female felt one ear tilt as her brow rose.
I'm not always so sweet...but, I do prefer Prim Rose. Mimi...made me feel like a pup. she noted. She paused behind Balor and eyed the path before them.
